Biography
Charles Cook Howell, III is a third-generation Jacksonville, Florida trial lawyer. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chaspel Hill and his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law. Before joining the Scott-McRae Group as its Coreporate Counsel in 2007, he was a full time civil trial lawyer, practicing at both the trial and appellate levels, in many different areas of the law, including personal injury and wrongful death, products liability, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, insurance coverage and bad faith, construction defects, and commercial disputes.
He is an AV rated and Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer (since 1983), and since 1994 has been a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. He is also a Federal Court Certified Mediator, and a Supreme Court Qualified Court Appointed Arbitrator.
Since joining the Scott-McRae Group, in addition to his duties as Corporate Counsel, he has also been engaged in an active mediation practice, devoted primarily to helping resolve difficult and/or complex commercial disputes.
