Replied last July 18, 2013Unfortunately, this person did not leave their name, so I can not address their concerns personally. I have acted as closing agent on hundreds of closings over the last several years, without complaint. In a closing transaction, the Seller usually chooses the closing agent, and the contract has already been formed prior to closing. The attorney's job is to make sure that transaction takes place according to the contract and that title is clear. I believe this particular buyer may have been confused about my role in this transaction and may have benefited from hiring her own counsel.
