Unfortunately, my husband and I seperated a couple of years ago. We couldn't come to an agreement with who had the kids and when, so we had to go to court. This was the first time I have ever had to go through the legal system for my children. I initially thought the lawyer who charged the most, ha...d to be the best. I only scheduled one consultation and that's where the previous attorney got me. I had such a terrible experience with him. He made me feel like I had to settle for what HE thought was in the "best interest of" my children and I, rather than even attempting to discuss what my opinion was. My ex and I ended up with a Time Sharing Plan that neither of us were exactly happy with. So eventually I decided to go for a modification. Once I had my consultation with Mr. Stepniak, I had a gut feeling he was the lawyer who I should have had since the beginning of my case because I got a vibe from him that he is a truly caring, understanding, realistic, kind hearted person.
