Worst lawyer
I was charged with three case , grand theft and , unauthorized transactions and stalking. I John Hager . That was my first charged ever in my life so I don't have any idea about law. I was in jail and he came to visit me and told me that he can't bonds me out because i am not citizen and if he do thn...
Please allow me the opportunity to respond. When I was hired to represent this client he only had one case and was out on bond. While out on bond, he committed the crime of stalking, therefore, the State Attorney's Office moved to revoke his bond and he was put back in jail with no bond. While in custody, I did meet with him a couple of times and I met with his father and client in my office prior to being arrested for the new offense. This client was being investigated by the FBI due to them believing that he was a terrorist. I met with the prosecutor twice to discuss this matter in an attempt to resolve this case. The offer from the State was to adjudicate him and to time serve him with no probation, however they wanted to deport him. The State also advised that they would not file the new charge of stalking if he pled to the first case that he was initially arrested for. I had a problem with this, but I had a duty to tell him of what was being offered. I spoke with two of my immigration attorney colleagues that specialize in this area due to me not practicing immigration law. They advised me that they couldn't give me a definitive answer as to the client being deported or not because they would have to meet with him in person and research his case. The only offer while I represented him was to have him deported due to being a suspected terrorist. That is what was conveyed to me by the State Attorney assigned to this case. End result is that the client ended up resolving both cases to a plea and accepted probation of two years in the felony case. I have to admit, this was a very difficult case due to the FBI being involved and trying to deport him. Eventually the FBI, after completing their investigation, backed off their belief of the client being a terrorist and he was able to take a plea on the case, one that a first time offender should be given and not be convicted. I always try to do the best for all of my clients. I have to mention that his new attorney did not get all of his charges dropped. That is untrue as it can be verified from the clerk's website. Unfortunately, although I always do my best for clients, there are always going to be clients that I cannot please and for that, I am truly regretful that Asraful was not satisfied. I wish him the best of luck and am glad that things worked out in his favor.
"No one needs to endorse John. When you meet him, you'll see his demeanor and legal prowess is elite. Truly elite. Along with easily being a top 100 trial lawyer in the state, he is a wonderful human being. It is my honor to endorse Mr. Hager."
"I met John about 15 years ago while the two of us were waiting to see clients at the Federal Detention Center in Miami. He was young and highly motivated. Although I barely knew John I had a good feeling about him and now some fifteen years later I am still referring him clients. John is bright and conscientious and he has the confidence clients want to see. When I refer a client to another attorney I expect that client to receive the same attention if not more than I would give them. John does that for me. I have been practicing in Nashville for the last ten years and I am comforted knowing that John takes excellent care of my South Florida clients. He is an excellent communicator. I would highly recommend John to anyone needing a criminal defense attorney in Florida."
