Christina Joy Opsahl

Attorney Christina (Christy) Opsahl handles high-stakes courtroom litigation in a variety of areas, including criminal defense, DUIs, misdemeanors, and felonies. She understands that no two cases are alike, and is dedicated to giving clients personal, one-on-one attention to gain an in-depth understanding of your unique case.

Christy was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2005 and has been practicing criminal law since her admission. Christy Opsahl is a former prosecutor with over a decade of extensive courtroom experience prosecuting offenses in all counties of the 7th Judicial Circuit, which includes St. Johns County, Putnam County, Flagler County, and Volusia County. As a prosecutor, Christy handled a variety of cases including: driving offenses, DUIs, property crimes, financial crimes, drug sales and possession, domestic disputes, aggravated assaults, aggravated batteries, weapons offenses, sexually motivated offenses, and homicides. She has successfully prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, in felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile courts and has a vast understanding of how the process works.

Christy Opsahl has substantial trial experience, having tried over 100 trials, with over 75 being jury trials. Ms. Opsahl has been recognized for her successful trial advocacy skills, having been awarded the Trial Top Gun Award by the State Attorney’s Office of the 7th Judicial Circuit.

After over a decade as a prosecutor, Christy went into private practice and worked with Plaintiff’s firms handling complex civil litigation such as the Engle tobacco cases, and now seeks to help those accused of a crime navigate the criminal justice process and obtain the best result for their individual situation.
