William Joseph Turner

I originally inquired with Mr. Joseph "Joey" Turner in September 2020 on a DUI case that has been pending since January 2019. During the initial consultation, it was indicated to Joey that resolving the case as quickly as possible was of grave concern due to my federal and military employment. Joey s...tated that the case should be resolved by the end of the year (2020) in which he was already in discussions with the Solicitor and was readily agreeable to the resolution. A year later, having since been discharged and denied four transfer and promotions my case is still pending. Recent contact with the Solicitors office suggests that Joey has not made contact with their office regarding my case. Unfortunately, the only time I can get Joey to return a call is when I send a certified letter to him, which I have done twice already. He will then set new deadlines and I do not hear from him again. I read the reviews of his prior communication issues/concerns and after speaking with Joey, he was prompt, courteous and responsive until I tendered my payment in full to him. I also see this to be common report from his peers and other reviewers/clients Please folks, do your research prior to hiring Mr. Turner.

My horror story sounds a lot like the rest of these reviews. Hired him January 2020 and fired him March 2021. In that time the only thing he did for my case was send one email. He will take your money. He will miss your court dates. He will lie about the work he is doing on your case. He will ignore ...your calls and miss appointments. Then, when you fire him, he will promise you a refund you will never get, block your calls, and hold your court file hostage so it makes it harder for you to move on. I paid him $4000 and got nothing out of deal! I see a lot of you mentioned the GA bar...that was my first route, but the supreme court decided not to would reprimand him for his behavior. They said I did not have enough proof. But they did say their decision does not stop any legal actions I choose to bring against Joey. My suggestion would be for you all to PLEASE PLEASE still file a grievance with the GA state bar. The more they hear his name, the more they will become aware of his behavior. Just go to the state bar website/For the public/File a complaint/Grievance. If you need help you can also call them 404-527-8759 or contact me. I hired mr turner for a case I had and initially he came off as a great guy to trust with my money (being that he worked with me on the payment) However after he was retained he pretty much went silent n all of a sudden unavailable long story short I terminated him and still haven't received my refu...nd nor have I talk to him til this day so bad choice on my end (ZANDERS.M) PS I STILL NEED MY BALANCE JOEY TURNER ITS BEEN A WHOLE YEAR NOW COME ON MAN

This past 4/20 I was arrested on false charges of distribution of marijuana for my legal Hemp I had for I even have a permit by Savannah's parks and recreation for the art hemp. Cheatham country Georgia is no joke the system here would not give me bond as they saw me as a risk for a revolution. Ab...out 14 days in jail my parents made a decision on contacting Joey Turner and he came right away the next day to see me. I like how quick he came to see me and we discussed on getting me out on a bond and didn't want to talk to far up the road. 2 more weeks later he had me stand in front of a judge for a probable cause hearing. I feel Joey is a well spoken individual who gave forth information on Hemp. He and the DA went at it like a WWF match as she wanted no bond again! bringing up lies like I have violated my previous bond which didn't exist and that Joey had no legal right to ask the officer about his knowledge of hemp. Now I admit he was the only lawyer to see me in jail and I'm not sure my parents put forth effort on research. The more I research now the more I worry. but I have faith in humanity that we are all trying to show Glory to God and his people unless your a satanic government worshipper. I Have stayed patient with Joey times I do send him a text is best it might take some time or a few text for him to get back to you. One thing I didn't like to hear Joey tell me is it is not safe to try my permit Savannah gave me while this case is going. Well I know they could make up and even plant drugs on me so sad I can't live an American dream due to nightmares. I ask about the officers video evidence as if we can get copies and he told me I would have to be indieted first to get that. I am curious about how long it's gonna show the test results to the hemp I had for it and I am ageing as all this hell they are putting me through. I don't want to stress that's why I use hemp extracts and the raw form. So almost 5 months in and I'm ready for this all to end so we can begin our Hemp Revolution! I figure I wouldn't be the only souljah he will help out here in Savannah. The Cannabis Community is ready to roll and have Joey Turner make violators pay that toll.

I was unfortunate enough to get into some serious legal trouble over a year ago, hired this man and will regret it for the rest of my life. We paid over 9k in total and received nothing but mediocre legal advice, subpar representation, and a COMPLETE lack of any communication. He put forth absolutel...y no effort to get the facts of my case in front of the DA, ignored my repeated requests for a bond hearing and in fact urged me to take a plea deal of 90 days in a probation detention camp in addition to pleading guilty to a felony, because he said, ‘the facts were stacked against me’ which was a lie that we discovered upon his dismissal. Turns out he never requested the discovery from the DA and that was after 8 months of these charges pending against me. Had he requested the discovery he would have known the state’s case against me was completely circumstantial and lacking ANY hard evidence whatsoever. Not only is he notorious for his refusal to return calls, text messages, voice messages and emails but he was at least an hour and sometime 2 hours late to nearly every court appearance I had, of which there were Many. At one point Effingham County Judge Muldrew actually disparaged him in open court for his irresponsibility, consistently late appearances and often flat out refusal to even show up regardless of the amount of time his clients were scheduled on the docket. He talks a great game upon his initial consultation but once you’ve paid him in full he disappears, and does the bare minimum for your case. We ended up firing him and found a new attorney who took his job and me as his client seriously. My case has since been resolved after a year of heartache, debilitating stress and hard core depression, being plead out to a few misdemeanors and a few years probation, a far cry from Joey’s recommendation.
