"Solving problems through law and alternative dispute resolution."
I am a native of Atlanta and a resident of Georgia almost my entire life. My undergraduate degree is from Mercer University (1974) and law degree (JD) from UGA Lumpkin School of Law (1981).
FAMILY LAW My approach to each case is to obtain information, determine realistic goals, formulate a plan, and then implement the plan. Too many people, including lawyers, "set problems on pedestals" to be looked at from every angle and "admired." Admiring problems never solves them. My clients and I work together to find solutions.
MEDIATION My style of mediation is more evaluative/directive than facilitative. My job is both to help the parties create solutions and to suggest solutions of my own. I tend to focus on options and potential outcomes. That means the parties need to engage in mediation knowing that if they don't find their own solution, twelve people they don't know (jury) will find one for them.

A lifesaver
Brian is an excellent lawyer and has helped me through a very difficult child custody case. He is the best lawyer I could have hoped for in the circumstances. Highly recommend.
