Biography
Attorney Karen Kenner Scott is the founder of The Scott Law Firm, LLC, where she represents property owners, developers, investors, businesses, and entrepreneurs throughout Georgia. Her practice focuses on real estate law, land use and zoning, code enforcement defense, business law, administrative appeals, and related litigation.
Prior to founding The Scott Law Firm, Attorney Scott served as an Assistant Solicitor General in both Fulton County and DeKalb County. She later served as Deputy Chief Assistant Solicitor General in DeKalb County, where she led the prosecution of complex land use, zoning, business licensing, and code enforcement matters. This government experience provides her clients with valuable insight into local regulatory and enforcement processes.
Attorney Scott earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia and her Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.
Her professional accomplishments have been recognized by numerous organizations. She is the recipient of the Michael Hancock Award from the DeKalb Lawyers Association, the Rising Star Award from the New Rock Legal Society, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers Spotlight Award, and the State Bar of Georgia Committee on Professionalism's Connect with a Colleague Contest First Place Award. In 2026, she was recognized as a Georgia BizATL Top Lawyer in the area of Land Use and Zoning.
Attorney Scott is actively involved in the legal profession and community through organizations including the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She currently serves as President-Elect of the GAWL Foundation and remains committed to mentorship, community service, and professional leadership.

Did not even go to jail!!
I got a DUI in Atlanta...my second one. I contacted Ms. Kenner and the case came out well. I highly recommend her for representation. Dont go in alone. Use an attorney.

Excellent Attorney
I felt so trapped with the creditors calling me all day. I went to Ms. Kenner and she was able to stop the calls and reduce my 10,000.00 debt to almost nothing. She was very knowledgeable and kept me informed every step of the way. Great attorney.
