We were fortunate enough to hire Attorney Lisa Alvelo with very short notice after learning that the tenant retained counsel for a counterclaim to the dispossessory action. The tenant had vacated but was unwilling to pay required rent while raising habitability issues with the property. Attorney Lisa... requested select documentation from us and gave assurance that we would be ready for the hearing. She came prepared to either negotiate or proceed to trial. During the trial, Attorney Lisa was tough, and would not allow the other counsel to ramble without cause or reference. She interrogated with precision and purpose to clearly extract opinion versus perception versus law, and represented us with professionalism and vigor. She was AMAZING and the outcome was in our favor. I’m just SO glad she was OUR attorney and we weren’t on the OTHER side!

I am a landlord and hire Lisa to get eviction for my tenant since she did not pay me rent for two months. Everthing looks ok until the court date. I am a littble bit late and Lisa have some time talk to the tenant. Then everything is changed and she seems on tenant's side. Lisa keep persuading me to ...accept the tenant's partial rent although I expressed clearly I do not want any of tenant's payment. I want to take possession of the house since this is the 4th time I filed eviction for the same tenant last 10 months. I have full-time job and my performance is affected by this rent house, and I do not want to listen tenant's story any more -- today mum die tomorrow sister car accident etc. But the Lawyer Lisa seems on keep saying tenant is sick, and I should accept tenant partial rent. Before the judge, Lisa did not express my intention - not accept any payment and take posssession of the house. I just got judgement which means if tenant pay all rent, I think tennat might stay.
