Biography
Attorney Robert Leanza Williams Jr. began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, which is one of the busiest state attorney offices in the Country. He cut his teeth overseeing hundreds of DUI and misdemeanor cases. During his tenure he was promoted several times serving in both the Criminal juvenile and Felony divisions where he conquered these specialized areas of criminal law. While in the Juvenile Division he prosecuted hundreds of cases ranging from theft to aggravated battery. Next, in the Felony criminal division, he prosecuted cases that included crimes such as drug trafficking, domestic violence, sex crimes and homicide. During this assignment, Mr. Williams honed his trial skills and continued to perfect his craft, while carrying case loads near the 300 count. In addition to the latter, Attorney Williams also handled issues including probation violation hearings, motions to suppress, bond hearings, Arthur hearings, Nebia hearings, and appeals.
Attorney Williams resume includes, serving in the Unites States Marine Corps, earning BS from Florida State University, serving as Firefighter for City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and earning JD from ST. Thomas University School of Law, Miami, Florida. Further, his experience includes an internship with the Miami Dade County State Attorneys Office and Judicial Summer Clerk for the Honorable Judge Darryl Trawick. On a more Personal note, Attorney Williams Attended Miami Beach Senior high school and dropped out at the age of 17 to join the United States Marine Corps. Whiles stationed in Hawaii, Mr. Williams later earned his High School Diploma from St. Louis H.S. The Marines selected him for BOOST Program, Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training Program; where he went on to earn a college scholarship. He went on to earn BS in Political Science, from Florida State University. While at Florida State he walked on to Football Team playing both offense and defensive tackles under the Legendary Coach Bobby Bowden. He also pledged Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity Incorporated. He is married to Cynthia Joy Brown Williams.
Attorney Williams is Barred in the state courts of Florida and Georgia. He is also barred federally in the southern district of Florida and the middle district of Georgia. Further, he is a member of the bar for the Armed Forces Military Appeals Court.
