I was arrested with a 6.8 BAC and charged with DUI. The reason for the accident was actually looking at a text, but it resulted in me running off the road and hitting a tree. The officer didn't accept that and made an arrest. The amount of anxiety this caused me and my family was almost overbearin...g. However, as soon as I found Richard, and spoke to him, it was clear he 1) knew his business, 2) cared a lot about my case (personally), 3) was quick, attentive, and always responsive, and 4) a consummate professional. Over the past the 6 months I have received very accomodating service from Mr. Lawson in a unique situation where I am not a US citizen and obtained a DUI charge while visiting the USA, nor do I reside in my home country. Living on the opposite side of the world as where the charges were laid and bei...ng 12 hours in time difference I thought this process was going to be very difficult, but Mr. Lawson made it very easy for me. There was never any "grey area" as to the details of any matter, Mr. Lawson explained exactly how things would happen from day one, and 6 months later it is how they materialized exactly. I appreciated the fact that he never tried to "sell" me on any additional services from his firm, instead I truly felt like his recommendations were what he would do if he was in my situation. In fact, his office handled local matters that I would have needed to do in person if I was in the country without asking for any extra payment. If I was using a lawyer who was not accommodating to the remote geographical situation my costs in travel and most detrimental - time away from my business, would have been much higher in the long run. At the start of the process I did research here on Avvo and obtained 5 quotes for this work, while Mr. Lawsons' seemed about 20% higher than the average I really did get what I paid for. I could have easily been steered the wrong direction by some of the aggressive attorneys I spoke to in the beginning. I would choose to work with Mr. Lawson again in the future, but as he is a DUI specialist I promise I will never have to :)

Richard is extremely effective at what he focuses on, which is DUI cases only. After receiving a DUI in June I immediately started doing research and talking to others about the best attorney for my case and contacted Richard.
