Michael Louis Rothenberg

Michael is a graduate of the South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, where he earned his doctorate in jurisprudence. He graduated with High Honors from the University of Florida. His college honors thesis may be found amongst the collection of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

Michael is a founding partner of Rothenberg & Barnes, LLC, where he practices in the areas of criminal defense - both felonies and misdemeanors, personal injury, wrongful death, automobile accidents and injuries, medical malpractice, workers compensation, business litigation, contracts, parole and probation, criminal appeals, family law - including divorce, child custody, child support and modifications, corporate law, wills, discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace - including federal civil and criminal practice and civil rights.

Michael is licensed to practice in all Georgia Trial Courts, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and the 11th United States Circuit Court of Appeals.

Michael is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and belongs to the Criminal Defense Section of the State Bar. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia Trial Lawyer’s Association, the American Trial Lawyer’s Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the DeKalb and Clayton County Bar Association. He is further a member of the Georgia Council of Municipal Court Judges.

Michael was appointed to the bench on August 7, 2007 and sworn in as Judge pro hac vice of the Dekalb County Recorder's Court.

Throughout his career, Michael has gained a reputation as a zealous advocate of his client’s interests. He has handled cases in nearly all areas of civil law, and has tried criminal cases ranging from traffic tickets to murder cases.
