NO SHOW in court!!!

I hired Michael and paid him in full the amount he requested November 12, 2012, for a DUI that I was charged with. When I first spoke to him regarding my issue I talked to him about the 10 day letter that had to be filed to save my license from being suspended. To the best of my knowledge my license ...had been saved by the 10 day filing because he said he would take care of it when I paid him but I was wondering if I would be wise to go ahead and do some community service before court so I called on Dec 14, 2012 inquiring about that and the status of my license. I heard nothing back from him. I called again about the status of my license on December 27, 2012 and again heard nothing back. Both times I left messages. On Jan 20, 2013, I was pulled over and found out then that my license had been suspended and I was subsequently taken to jail. I called after I got out of jail and left a message and again the next morning and afternoon. I called again the next morning and left another message and he called me back a few hours later. He said he didn't know what happened but he would look into it and get back to me. I did not personally hear back from him though he did talk to my father, with whom he has a personal relationship. I waited 48 hours from when he said he would get back to me and then I started calling and emailing him trying to get back in touch with him. I was requesting a copy of the letter he said he filed to keep my license from being suspended. It took almost a week for me to get the copy. After I received the copy of the letter I began trying to figure out what happened myself. I did not contact him again (since he was so hard to get in touch with) until 8 days before my court date. I emailed him at 2:39pm Monday, Feb 25, 2013 saying that I was sure he had received notice of my court date in the mail for the following week. I asked him if we would be able to discuss our plan before going to court and I also asked him why my license was suspended if he filed the letter he said he filed. I did not hear back from him. I went to court and he did not show up. Apparently he never even filed an entry for my case-that was told to me by a second attorney I had to hire to help me clear up my situation. Of course I have to pay this second attorney a full fee to represent me for my DUI and also to represent me for the suspended license. I can't say whether or not the suspended license was Michael's fault. He said he filed the letter within the 10 day window. I don't have any proof otherwise. I do know that he did not show up to my court date and I do know I paid him in full what he asked me to pay him. I requested a refund of my retainer and he emailed me back saying he would consider a partial refund and he would be in touch with me. I have not heard a thing from him in over two weeks now.
