Quinton G. Washington is a founding partner of Bell & Washington LLP, a full service law firm with offices in Atlanta, Gainesville, and Dunwoody, Georgia, as well as New York, NY. Quinton has successfully represented clients in over 30 counties throughout Georgia. His experience, combined with the relationships he has built has allowed him to quickly rise in the profession to become a respected advocate for his clients. Quinton is a member of all of the local courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court and a member of the federal bar. In 2016, Governor Nathan Deal appointed Quinton to the position of Magistrate Judge in Fulton County.
A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, Quinton received a full scholarship to Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. While matriculating at Florida A&M University, he graduated with a major in Public Management with honors.
Quinton was awarded the prestigious Harry S. Truman Fellowship and the Woodrow Wilson Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship, and used these awards to attend Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachusetts. There, Quinton received his Master’s Degree in Public Policy and worked for the late Judge A. Leon Higginbotham, a true pioneer in progressive interpretation of constitutional law.
Quinton attended law school at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. While attending Emory, Quinton was a member of the Black Law Students Association, the Moot Court Society, and the Lamar Inn of Court. While at Emory, Quinton worked at some of the country’s top law firms and corporations, there he honed his legal skills working with some of the country’s top legal minds. Quinton also completed an externship with Justice Robert Benham, former Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court, where he familiarized himself with appellate advocacy.
Quinton focuses his practice on legal matters involving individuals and small companies in the areas of wrongful death and personal injury litigation, all aspects of family law representation, criminal defense with an emphasis on DUI representation as well as business litigation for small companies. Quinton has handled hundreds of smaller cases from uncontested divorces and child support matters to complex multi-state family law litigation involving millions of dollars in assets.
In criminal defense matters, Quinton has been quoted in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution and was chosen to participate in the Bill Daniels Criminal Defense Institute, where only 50 young lawyers from around the state are chosen each year to participate. Quinton was also rated “Excellent” by the Attorney Search Network one of the nations leading referral services for attorneys.
Quinton is certified in administering NHTSA field sobriety tests which police officers use to determine probable cause in DUI arrests. With this knowledge, he has successfully argued for not guilty verdicts in state and municipal courts throughout Georgia. Quinton also represents families in matters of trusts, estates, wills, and probate issues as well as His vast experience has allowed him to represent clients from local municipal court all the way to the Supreme Court of Georgia. Because of his expertise, He was also chosen as a member of the 2007 Leadership Georgia Class, selected as an Outstanding Atlantan in 2008, and was chosen to be a member of the Leadership Buckhead Class of 2009.
