I have lived in Georgia since 2003 and practiced in Henry County since 2007. My biggest professional passion is sentencing. Many criminal sentences are too harsh, and treatment is often more effective at preventing crime than incarceration. I have argued sentencing issues before dozens of trial court judges, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, history, statistical analysis and spending daddy time with my two year old son.

None Better!
Mr. Abbott was hired to handle a criminal charge for my son. He kept us informed throughout the process and was successful in negotiating a fair deal for my son with the District Attorney. He and his assistant always responded in a reasonable amount of time to any inquiry we had. I would highly re...
"David is an outstanding attorney. He is remarkably intelligent and well-versed in the law. He consistently provides excellent defense representation for his clients, regardless of how difficult a case may be. I know this because he and I handled many criminal cases as opposing counsel while I was a prosecuting attorney. Through the years, I grew to greatly respect David's legal skills. For these reasons, I wholeheartedly endorse him."
"David Abbott is an exceptionally capable attorney. He is highly intelligent and a persuasive speaker. He is also an energetic and determined advocate for his clients. He is cares about getting good results and is always well prepared. David has the experience which is often essential to protecting a criminal defendant's rights effectively. He has an exceptional memory for the precise details of our often-complicated system of constitutional criminal procedure. But he never neglects the big picture for legal technicalities, i.e., he works just as hard to help the client make his or her best personal impression on the judge or jury and he is well equipped to assess the importance of every witness and every piece of evidence realistically and with a view to protecting his client. I strongly recommend this attorney."
"I recommend Mr. Abbott. He has a brilliant legal mind, and is worth having in your corner when you need someone with experience to fight for you in and out of court."
"David is a very knowledgeable and capable attorney. I have worked with him and across from him on several matters and found him to be a great lawyer who is passionate about the rights of his clients. It is primarily due to David that the jury pool in Henry County reflects the current citizenship."
