Justin Buice Grubbs

My husband and I hired Mr. Grubbs on a custody issue, Mr. Grubbs to begin with was ok, was quick to return calls, and accepted our calls. We had several court hearings, Mr. Grubbs was paid very well. On our last hearing date, we lost custody of our niece, to her step-grandparents, to the disma...y of the Child Advocate as well as DFACS. While outside of the courthouse, we were urged to appeal the decision of the judge. We let Mr. Grubbs know that day that we would be appealing, we were charged $2000.00. Mr. Grubbs assured us that he would begin on the proper paperwork the next day. Once we got home, we discussed more in depth, we decided not to go through with the appeal. I made a call to Mr Grubbs office, and gave notice that we had changed our minds, Mr. Grubbs said that he had not started started on the appeal paper work, and that our money would be returned. Mr. Grubbs, would give us a date that a check would be ready for pick up, yet it never was. At this point, Mr. Grubbs would not answer calls, would not return calls, and would hide in the back office if I or my husband went by to see him. Again, I would like to reiterate, that we paid for all services, and were charged monies for an appeal that DID NOT HAPPEN! The child’s advocate Christie Lovelace, is very familiar with this as well. Admittedly, I would be nice, to get get our money returned! If it had of been the reverse situation, we would have already have been sued, garnished, and taken to the furthest legal action could go.

I honestly dont know where to start. I hired Justin to represent me for a divorce in 2018. When I went to consultation, he was very knowledgeable and honest with everything I had to say. He represented me extremely well and he went above and beyond my expectations. It was a long rough divorce but he ...never gave up. If you hire justin and you have a hard time touching base with him, just be patient and know he will contact you when he has time. He did everything I could've asked out of him. I highly recommend him. If I ever go thru a divorce again, I'd use him

Mr. Grubbs was very kind and compassionate when I first me with him. He advised me that he could take my case and begin working on it immediately. He set what seemed like a fair retainer and said to call him anytime I had a question and we agreed that I would make continual payments to build up the b...alance on the account so he would have ample funds to support a good "fight". Mr. Grubbs advised that a certain part of the case would require an extra fee for an outside service provider and he quoted a specific amount. once I agreed to that amount and built the funds, I was contacted and advised that the cost for the outside service had literally doubled. This caused me a great deal of suspicion. Then Mr. Grubbs would not return my calls himself nor would he meet with me. I asked for a refund of the remaining funds on the account and I was contacted by Mr. Grubbs secretary and advised that there are no refunds and that he spent a great deal of time "Researching" my case which used most of the funds. I cannot get a response to a request for a detailed bill of time spent on my case nor can I get Mr. Grubbs to return my calls. I have since hired another attorney who has performed very well, provides regular billing statements, and even returns my calls. Please use caution when choosing an attorney. I have no way of knowing if this is a habit for Mr. Grubbs or a fluke. Either way, I am owed an explanation or some results. Neither of which have I gotten.
