Bad attorney/Don't care

I felt he didn't care about me, didn't believe my story, I spent more time with his paralegal who demanded money every time we met. Cut me a plea deal for a charge I didn't commit , just pushed me so hard that I should take the deal or could spend thousands of dollars and still end up in Jail for 2...5yrs. I would never recommend him for any one with a serious crime hanging around your neck. Never and Never.

Unresponsive & Doesn't Care

I hired Daran for three cases spanning three counties. I had a great outcome, but it had absolutely NOTHING to do with him and EVERYTHING to do with his paralegal at the time. I only met with him a couple of times and I think I spoke with him on the phone once. I spoke with his paralegal almost every... day. His paralegal was the one who worked out the plea agreements for me and kept me informed. The one time Daran had to come to court especially for me, i.e., he didn't have other clients in the same court that day, he was late to the point that the judge almost continued the case. That was the last court appearance I had to make before being released from jail (I did not have a bond), so I begged the judge to wait and by some stroke of luck, she did. When he did finally show up, I had to tell him what the plea deal was. It was like he didn't already know. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this attorney. He is unresponsive and he just seems like he doesn't care. If it weren't for his paralegal, I would have fired him and gone with someone else or I'd probably still be sitting in jail. As a client, I felt like a case - just another few dollars in the bucket. When he did talk to me, he talked down to me like I was a nobody. This guy needs to get out of the customer service business or realize that he's working with people's lives.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
