I was born in Cleveland Ohio, but raised in Naples, FL. While in college, I was in the Air Force ROTC program and, after graduation, I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. While on active duty, I completed my masters degree in international relations.
After 4 1/2 years, I separated with an Honorable Discharge and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.
I then took a job in Orlando supervising the residential construction process of some pretty amazing houses for David Weekley Homes. My first community was Baldwin Park. Anyone familiar with Orlando knows that Baldwin Park was a Navy base which was demolished around 2000. It was then sold to a developer and is now a beautiful master-plan community.
As I was always curious about law school, I took my LSAT in the fall of 2006 and applied to Georgia State's College of Law and was accepted to start in the fall of 2007. Going back to being a broke college student at age 31 was not an easy transition. So, I took an overload of classes for 3 straight semesters so I could graduate an entire semester ahead of my peers. After graduating in December 2009, I took the bar exam in February 2010, and received my results in May 2010 and began working at David West & Associates shortly thereafter.
While with David, my eyes were opened to how calloused and unjust our criminal "justice" system usually is. Law enforcement is usually rewarded and promoted based on arrests made and citations issued. Prosecutors are rewarded and promoted based on conviction percentages. As such, they usually don't care if the accused is guilty or not. Furthermore, judges are re-elected for being "tough on crime". To make matters worse, most criminal defense lawyers care far more about the money than they do their clients.
In April 2012, I decided it was time to learn the civil side of the law. Since that time, I have specialized in personal injury cases mainly stemming from auto accidents and injuries sustained on common carriers. I also now have experience defending Eight Amendment excessive force cases as well as other Civil Rights cases. I have also been on the other side of the table as our firm does take plaintiff cases in many of these areas.

If you want to drop thousands of dollars to have a lawyer show up in court look like a lost puppy and not know what he’s doing then go with Jason Carnell. Plus He doesn’t return phone calls or emails. I personally fell for his mission statement on this page saying how he would put the client first...
Felony probation revocation matters are one of the hardest things I do. The reason is that it's very uncommon to get a "good" result. The best way to handle that fact is to set the proper expectation with the client prior to being retained. It is, however, very difficult to do that when the client and/or the client's family isn't completely forthcoming with all the reasons he/she is facing revocation. That was the challenge I faced in this particular case. The result then was worse than predicted. Some clients/families take responsibility and understand that when the facts change, the outcome is going to change as well. And then some refuse to take responsibility and, instead, nitpick your performance. The lesson though is that if you're not completely candid with your attorney about the facts surrounding your case, they cannot possibly forecast an outcome with any degree of accuracy.

Jason meticulously went over every detail of my case, and more importantly every possible outcome. He took th...

Jason handled two cases for me, one in Cherokee County and the other in Fulton. He honored a two year old promise to handle the 2nd one for free. He did a great job on both and I'd recommend his services to anyone needing legal assistance. He honors his word and understands the law.
