My review of Melody Swilling (from Hait, Eichelzer, & Kuhn) regarding my divorce.

I went to Hait, Eichelzer & Kuhn to file for divorce. At first I just wanted counsel about divorce and the process. I met with Lizz Kuhn in the beginning of the process then Melody Swilling stepped in as Lizz had a baby. She was able to come into the process as if I had been working with her the whol...e time. Melody was always very friendly and professional. She helped me with Mediation and in the final court hearing following through till the divorce was final. Melody was very knowledgeable and during the mediation process she really looked out for me and what was best for the children. She drafted the settlement papers and was very through. She was available to make changes as needed until a final settlement had been reached. She put me at ease during the final hearing and was able to make last minute changes that day. I left the process feeling protected and am not worried about my future concerning the divorce as everything was spelled out in the settlement agreement. I am very grateful to this law firm. I have and will recommend Melody.

Very trustworthy and honest

I retained Hait, Eichelzer & Kuhn to handle my divorce. It was a very good expierence. I was very pleased with the instant response to questions by phone or emails. It took longer than I anticipated to settle, but I was told up front that it could take about a year. It was at no fault of theirs, betw...een the Sheriff's office dropping the ball at the beginning, the oppossing council taking all kinds of time off for one reason or another and various other delay tactics, we stood strong and reached a settlement. I met Melody at my free consultation. She urged me to try and talk things out with my then husband, and to let her know if i wanted to proceed. I was greatfull for her honesty. She headed up my medieation and was very strong. I was very Pleased with the outcome. I was very comfortable with their invoicing policy. After the initial retainer I was only billed for the work completed each month. My bill was higher than I expected, but again, that was due to the oppossing council's motions, phone calls and emails. Their are circumstances that you do not have any control of. I found Melody to be very aware of all phases of my case. Melody and the entire office are very honest and friendly. I will use Hait, Eichelzer & Kuhn again if need be.

Not a good lawyer

My lawyer failed to work on my case correctly. All she did was charge me a bunch of money. I ended up having to fire her from my case and then still had the nerve to tell me I still owed her money! She refused to give me both my binders back (of the evidence that she asked for and did NOT use at a...ll). I do not recommend her as your lawyer!!

I would suggest that you contact that former law firm to obtain a copy of your file and any billing questions as those decisions would have come from management and are one of many reasons I founded SFL to work more closely on client goals and ensuring clients understand their billing.
