Thanks. Though I fought you at the time, only because of your counsel, I made the right decision.

I wanted to fight all charges - DUI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Obey a Traffic Device. Kim brought reason to me. I wound up pleading to Failure to obey traffic device. The other charges were not prosecuted. And even the traffic light was done with an Alford Plea, meaning in my guilty plea, I... asserted innocence, but the admitted that evidence would likely result in me being found guilty -- there was a video after all. I was still made about not fighting it for a few months, but recently realized the lack of prosecution of the DUI has probably allowed me to stay on my career track. Thanks for your representation, and counsel. As an attorney with me as a client, I would probably fought it at trial, as would have one of the other attorneys I consulted with. You removed the risk of trial, and made it go it away.

Kim gets the job done!

We hired Kim for a criminal traffic violation that, if convicted, would have caused my son his job. It was an injustice that involved an officer covering for another officer. We were told by another attorney that Kim was the lawyer that wasn't afraid to face off against the Cobb County Police Depart...ment. She did a great, investigative job and charges were dropped. Her rates were comparable with other attorneys in the area. I highly recommend her and wouldn't hesitate to hire her again if the need arises. She's a no nonesense, take charge attorney.

You need a Cutting Edge Technology Attorney when Social Media posts have unintended consequences.

In late 2014, I was falsely accused of "internet stalking" by posting facts and my opinions on my private social media profile. It turned out my ex had a common acquaintance, masquerading as a friend, spying on my social media page. I had no idea that simply posting facts, like sharing news art...icles online and my clearly stated opinions on the behaviors outlined in the articles, could result in potential legal action under the newly passed GA laws. While it was a civil charge, these cases, in Georgia, are filed under Family Violence and can include measures such as temporary restraining orders. An unjust conviction could have resulted in my inability to renew my concealed weapons permit or even to shop in my local grocery store for fear of accidentally coming in close proximity of the accuser while simply getting a gallon of milk. They also threatened to restrict my freedom of speech and would show up in any future job interview background checks. As a single father of three, I was concerned over these charges and the potential impact that they could have on both my children and myself. Kim interviewed me, gathered needed evidence, such as the posts in question, and put my mind at rest that we would prevail. When our day in court arrived, Kim quickly showed that I had not named anyone specifically in my posts and that my First Amendment Rights were protected. Under tough cross examination, Kim got my accuser to admit under oath to the related behaviors I found objectionable (they had also been threatening $50,000 civil lawsuit for slander which "evaporated" as soon as she made the admission). Kim cited the relevant case law, including at the time some higher court rulings that had just been handed down in cases similar to mine. It took the judge about 2 minutes to declare that my accusers had "failed to meet their burden" and that all charges against me were "dismissed". If you are looking for an experienced, thorough, and tough attorney to represent you in metro Atlanta, you have found her! The only reason I only gave her "5 stars", is that they didn't have a HIGHER rating.

Goes beyond expectation

My 17yo son was charged with drug and alcohol related charges while on school campus. My first thought was to simply let my son stand before the judge without representation and accept responsibility for his actions. After deciding to hire an attorney with the hopes I could protect his future by gett...ing him a first time offender status I looked up attorneys on the web. It was a crap shoot, any one of them would have taken his money and I had no idea who would be good for him. Kim Frye was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn't be happier. During our first meeting Ms. Frye took a special interest in my son and recognized immediately that he needed help beyond the recent legal trouble he got into. She searched for the name of a counselor that she specifically wanted my son to see because he specialized in adolescent drug and alcohol abuse. That recommendation led us to put my son into an inpatient rehab facility for 60 days because my son was addicted to drugs and alcohol, something we could not see or accept prior to all this. Ms. Frye also advised my son of things he should accomplish after rehab such as community service. Once everything was completed and given my son's continuous attendance at AA meetings following rehab Ms. Frye was able to negotiate a dismissal of charges. I do not know of the legal challenges incurred but I do know the end results were exceptional. I recommend her practice with enthusiasm.

Sexual Battery/Simple Battery Charge

Kim was thorough in her preparation, relentless in her defense of my case, brilliant in her courtroom strategies, sensitive to the needs of my family in this time of stress, and masterful in her presentation of my defense. The truth was heard, the jury verdict was "Not Guilty" on all charges, and my... case was resolved satisfactorily. I give Kim my highest recommendation. She is a true and caring professional with an unmatched commitment to defending her clients. I have nothing but positive comments and accolades for Kim, and would recommend her, without reservation, to anyone in need of criminal defense. Quite simply, she is one of the very best in her profession.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
