John was born in Darien, Connecticut in 1964. He attended Florida Southern College and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University School of Law in 1990. While at Mercer Law School, John was a member of the Mercer Law Review, a member of the Mercer Law Review Student Writing Editor’s Staff, a member of the Mercer Moot Court Board and the Mercer University Craven Cup Moot Court Team. John was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia as well as the Florida Bar in 1990. Prior to joining the firm, John was a partner with the law firm of Flournoy, Morgan & Schnatmeier, LLP. Before going into private practice, John was a prosecutor with the Cobb County Solicitor General’s office from 1992 until 1997 where he was selected as the Prosecutor of the Year in 1995. In addition to his duties as a prosecutor with the Solicitor General’s office, John was an instructor at the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy and Cobb County Public Safety and Police Training Center from 1994 to 1997. He began his legal career with a law firm in St. Petersburg, Florida where he practiced general civil litigation.
John is also an associate Judge for the City of Marietta, the City of Powder Springs, the City of Woodstock and a Pro Hac Judge in Cobb County State Court as well as Cobb County Juvenile Court. He is currently a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Cobb County Bar Association, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Cobb County Trial Lawyers Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Cobb County Criminal Defense Section and is a founding member of the Marietta Lawyers Club. John is a board member with the City of Kennesaw Development Authourity.
In addition to the Georgia and Florida Bar, John has been admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the Middle District of Florida.
John lives in Kennesaw, Georgia with his wife and three children.
