Everyone makes mistakes. Especially when driving on GA highways. Mr. Koontz was there to help me out when I made that mistake. Mr. Koontz took the time to talk with me personally, to understand the issue, and then discussed my options with me. He even explained backup options in the event that th...e first plan did not work as expected. It was that confidence and willingness to talk things out that lead me to select Mr. Koontz as my attorney. Due to COVID, courts were still holding virtual trials. Due to the backlog these trials were several months after the incident. Mr. Koontz worked during that time to gather information and never lost interest in my case. He ultimately worked with the Prosecuting Attorney to get the incident reduced to a non-points violation. Overall, Mr. Koontz has a exceptional understanding of the Law and the jurisdictions. He was great to work with, very communicable. prompt and willing to help in any way. Over the several months working on this case, I was able to spend some time talking with David about his experience at Harvard and why he chose to do criminal defense. I was arrested in August of 2019 for DUI at age 18. Fast forward to today and he was able reduce it to a reckless charge which allows me to keep my license (which is extremely important for me as I split time in the suburbs and the city as a GT student). For the duration of this situation, he was ...great at communicating everything clearly to me, making sure I was in the loop, and I could tell that he was genuinely invested in getting me the best outcome possible. One of my family’s biggest priorities when choosing a lawyer was to find one that clearly cared about fighting for the best outcome possible- not one that just wanted our money and would do a mediocre job. David has many clients but, despite this, I felt like a priority at all times. I even recommended him to a friend of mine who found himself in a super-speeder situation, and from what I heard, it worked out well for my friend as well. Great man who’s confident in his craft and appears to be well-connected in the system. I’ll definitely continue to recommend him to any friends/family that find themselves in unfortunate legal situations.

David did all the dirty work in this case. I was charged with Reckless driving and I am under 21 so I was at risk of losing my license and potential jail time. Luckily I did not get arrested so it made it easier for him, but the case was resolved in just over a year with a small fine and a couple of ...classes. Most importantly nothing on my record and no increase in insurance costs. David also is a kind person who will get back to you very quickly. Heard about him from a friend and I will recommend David to anyone I know that gets in any sort of trouble. I will also seek out David's advice again in the future if I ever need any help.
