William Ney is an awful attorney!

I hired this attorney to assist me in handling a breach of contract/fraud claim against an insurance company. This guy refused to file any real pleadings in the case. He actually made no substantive filings. All he really did was over-bill me without doing any substantive work, claiming he was review...ing the case. Ney even billed me for filing/responding to a court order that denied his personal request for leave - which had nothing to do with representing me. My advice is to avoid this guy at all costs!

“Lack of Communication, Misleading Estimates, and Unmet Expectations

We retained William’s services in January to assist with a sensitive family matter, with a clear timeline in mind for resolution by June due to a major family event. During our initial consultation, William presented the matter as straightforward and assured us it would not be overly costly. Based on... his representations and professional demeanor, we agreed to retain him and signed a contract. Following payment of the initial retainer, I promptly provided all requested documentation to begin the case. Unfortunately, communication ceased almost immediately. For nearly two months, I received no substantive updates or progress on the case. Multiple attempts to follow up via email and phone went unanswered until I expressed dissatisfaction in stronger terms. Only then did I receive minimal case activity in the form of a brief, three-page document submission. Shortly thereafter, I was invoiced for over $600—primarily for the time spent reading and responding to my inquiries about the case status. The original retainer was effectively depleted by this limited and reactive communication, rather than substantive legal work. When I raised concerns about unmet expectations and lack of progress, William offered to terminate the agreement. Given the lack of forward momentum and unexpected cost escalation—several thousand dollars beyond initial estimates—I agreed to end the engagement. The case was closed without achieving any meaningful result. Regrettably, I am left without resolution, and out of pocket for legal fees that yielded minimal value. I would strongly encourage potential clients to thoroughly research and vet representation. In my experience, this attorney did not demonstrate the reliability, communication, or follow-through that clients deserve in sensitive legal matters.

William handled my divorce case . He pointed out all of my entitlements, leaving me with nothing to worry about , took all calls and responded to my email promptly. I didn’t know what to do or expect , he told me don’t worry about anything and he would make sure that I came out good. Will...iam put me in a position to come out far better than my ex - wife , whom filed on me. It was me that told William let’s cut her some slack , he said that’s completely up to you Tyrone.

$6000 per Hour Lost the case

I hired Mr. Ney to represent me against another attorney for conflict of interest. I gave him $1000 for case study, he came back saying I have a case and my ex-attorney is not entitled to any money and we can have jury trial and bring expert witness. He asked me for $7000 more a flat fee contract, I ...emailed him many times before court day he never responded. On court date on Aprile 27th 2023. I went to his office he said we will lose the case. He lost the case. He did not let me to sit next to him to see court, I could not log into court zoom, because of wrong password. He costed me $6000 per hour. Wondering if he can sleep at night, Please look at Google reviews with only two stars

Very professional !

My case, it did not involve a lot of money; but the lawyer defended it as if it were. It's not just money is doing things right
