It was over 10 years ago, he kept me from taking a bad deal that would still effect me today when I was innocent. I found him by searching cases for hours with positive outcomes on the Court website. Was real about the overpriced lawyer I had already retained and the situation I was in. Spent several...

We were given Mr. Lewis’ name by our lawyer, B.W., who no longer practices in the public arena- he was elected into a prominent position. It means a lot to us that our longtime lawyer would hand us over to him.

It's been a few years, but the pain is still there. We hired Attorney Lawrence Lewis after he approached us in the parking lot of the Gwinnett County Court House. He made many promises before we could decide if we were going to hire him. He was very talkative and he had his assistant with him at the ...
This is a fake review. I have not represented anyone in a civil capacity for $ 1800 in more than five years. I practice criminal law. I resolve approximately 200 criminal cases each year, and try 18-20 major felony jury trials every year, which currently puts me at over 400 jury trials. At 400 jury trials, I am NOT afraid of any litigator or judge in the courtroom. The review is insane, because the person alleges that after he went out of town for a few days (2-4), he: (1) lost his case; (2) was ordered to pay $5000; and (3) was jailed. All because he missed his court date. Get real. First, court dates are set 3-4 weeks before the actual date. So, there is no leaving for 2-3 days, and a surprise court date popping up. Second, summary judgement in the civil arena does not result in a bench warrant; and a bench warrant in a criminal case does not result in losing a money judgement. Third, there is no explanation for why I failed to go to court on the date that the "civil" matter was scheduled, except that I was scared. I suspect the review was posted by a client named Sergio, who did pay me $ 1800 over time, because he was on a payment plan. He was ordered to pay a total of $6000, but the story is a little more complex. Sergio was charged with a felony Deposit Account Fraud, for a bad check in the amount of $2400. It was a criminal case, NOT a civil matter. It was resolved as a misdemeanor, with a sentence of twelve months on probation, restitution in the amount of $ 2400 and extradition from another state in the amount of $3400. Client was arrested while I was representing him, but before he was arrested, Sergio appeared in court 2-3 times. After he made a few court appearances, Sergio indicated that he "had" to go to Mexico for an entire month. I responded that it should NOT be a problem, especially since I had a definite return date from Mexico (call it July 1st). The client did miss a court date, while he was in Mexico, but I was able to get the judge to hold off issuing a bench warrant. A few days after Sergio was to return to the U.S. (call it July 5th), I had heard nothing from Sergio. I had no number for a wife, paramour, friend or son. So, the judge issued the bench warrant around July 5th. A few days after the bench warrant was issued, Sergio tries to reenter the U.S. (call is July 10th), and was detained on the bench warrant. He was extradited from Texas, which is where the $3400 in extradition fees comes from. There was no fine in the case. While he was sitting in jail in Gwinnett County, I indicated that IF Sergio could repay the $ 2400 and sit for 3-4 weeks, I should be able to get the charges dismissed. It was only then that I discovered that Sergio had medical issues that would not allow him to sit in jail for a minute. So, I negotiated a misdemeanor sentence, and got Sergio out of jail immediately. After Sergio got out of jail, he was unhappy about having been jailed in Texas and unhappy about repaying the $ 2400 that he owed. Any time a client is unhappy it is my fault. PERIOD. However, no one needs to chase me to catch me. Every day I am at the courthouse at 75 Langley Drive, in Lawrenceville, because I am a trial attorney. NOT a plea attorney. NOT a motions attorney. A TRIAL attorney. I accept all certified mail, and appear where I am supposed to appear to address whatever I need to address. God fearing has nothing to do with anything. I learned how to be a legal professional at Cornell Law School. I learned leadership in the United States Army as an Artillery Officer. I learned integrity and grit in high school with the Jesuits at Seton Hall Prep in New Jersey. As for my reputation, I recommend that you visit the courthouse and ask the personnel that you see (e.g. baliffs, deputies, court reporters) about my reputation; or check clerk's computer to see all cases I have handled: http://www.gwinnettcourts.com/casesearch/byattorney.aspx

Hired him to represent me in a TPO hearing. He was arrogant and primarily focused on billable hours. Talked a good game but in my opinion his defense was inadequate at best.
Because I resolve approximately 200 criminal matters every year, and the criticism is posted anonymously, it is difficult to figure out who posted the comment, or why. I am always open to criticism, but I find most of the on-line comments are from people who phoned the office and did not like the fact that I do not offer free consultations. I do not worry about billable hours in a TPO, because I have always charged a flat fee. I have charged $ 2500 for a TPO for the last ten (10) years. If the TPO takes two hours it is $ 2500. IF the TPO takes fifteen hours, it is $ 2500. So, the comment about my focus on billable hours is bizarre, and leads me to believe that this person was never a client. Again I recommend that folks visit the courthouse where their matter will be addressed and ask the staff at that courthouse for a recommendation of four to five attorneys. That way, you know you are being led in the right direction by folks that have seen the attorneys in action.
