The only advice I would give someone standing in my old shoes would be this: when you list your personal property, be absolutely sure you include everything you might want and/or need, right down to the pruning shears hanging in the garage. I ended up re-purchasing a piece of furniture I’d bought for $15 at auction. This time, it cost me $500.
