Ethan Goemann

I represent employees in wage-and-hour and other employment disputes, with a particular focus on unpaid overtime, off-the-clock work, misclassification, improperly calculated overtime rates, and FLSA collective actions.

Before representing employees, I defended companies in complex employment litigation at two national law firms. That experience gave me an inside understanding of how employers investigate, defend, and resolve wage-and-hour claims. I now use that perspective to help employees evaluate their rights and pursue the compensation they have earned.

I am a shareholder at Sommers Schwartz, P.C., and practice from the firm’s Decatur, Georgia office. I represent clients in Georgia, North Carolina, and wage-and-hour matters across the country. My experience includes both individual employment claims and collective actions involving large groups of employees.

I am a chapter author for the American Bar Association’s Wage and Hour Laws: A State-by-State Survey, covering Georgia and North Carolina. Before entering private practice, I served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Graham C. Mullen of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.

I believe employees deserve a clear and honest assessment of their situation. My goal is to explain the law in practical terms, identify the strongest available options, and help each client make an informed decision about how to proceed.
