Ms. Fortunately was truly a Godsend! I was at a low point in my marriage and NEEDED out! I was concerned because my now ex husband was incarcerated and I didn’t k ow where to begin. I saw a billboard one day while heading to Atlanta and I sent an email to Ms. Fortin and that is where the magic began.... I hired her in April. She didn't do anything with my case. She never even filed the case with the court. Paid her the $299 and then she wants more money. Price kept increasing and no closer to a divorce. No return phone calls. I still have yet to hear this woman's voice. I don't even know if she actu...ally exists. You send her an email and it takes her 24 hours to respond and she gives you a vague answer. Towards the end of July, I couldn't take it anymore. My divorce papers still hadn't been filed. I asked her about filing for divorce through publication. She gave me all the reasons why it would be so difficult to file and how the judge probably would not approve the filing for publication. I finally told her to either take my case seriously, or I would have to terminate her as my attorney. She agreed and gave me some of my money back. She really should have given all of it back to me considering she didn't do anything. I ended up going to the Courts and filing my own divorce. It cost me $214 to file my own paperwork and file for publication in the same day. I'm almost done with this and it did not take months. The judge approved me to file for publication a few days after I filed my documents in court. Sometimes its better to try it on your own. My case was simple. No community property, no children, etc. I read the positive posts from several clients and I am glad that she was able to assist you all with your life change; but for whatever reason, she would not assist me. I now understand why they call her the $299 divorce lawyer. Because you pay $299 and nothing is done. I just gave this woman $299 of my hard earned money!!! And that's why I'm Still Stunned!
