Jeanne Bynum Hipes has been a legal gladiator for her clients since commencing law practice in 1984. An aggressive litigator and negotiator, Jeanne has been advocating for her corporate executive client base in one capacity or another during virtually all of her 20+ years of law practice. Jeanne brings a wealth of complex, commercial litigation experience to her clients’ legal issues, top-notch corporate experience, employment law advocacy, and a lengthy record of dispute resolution success. She has incomparable experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants, both individuals and corporations of all sizes, from Mom and Pop to Fortune 100 multi-billion dollar corporations.
Jeanne has developed and used her skills in multiple forums—mediation, arbitration, administrative hearings, bench trials, jury trials, appellate courts and settlement negotiations— both in Georgia and in other states, as well as abroad. She has lived in and understands the corporate world. Her breadth of experience has equipped her to “know the enemy” and conquer it. Yet her clients often comment that she has a rare sensitivity to and compassion for their circumstances, which makes her a good listener and easy to talk to and understand.
In dealing with business clients, Jeanne recognizes that the individuals who run the business make the business, and she is skilled at listening to business executives as they explain their needs, be they individual or business needs. Jeanne is dedicated to giving her business executive clients excellent legal service, whether they are executives seeking employment with or severance from a corporation, or executives representing corporations seeking to hire or terminate individuals, resolve a contract dispute, fight against business fraud, theft or other torts, or develop necessary business and employment contracts. Both individual and Fortune 100 clients have found Jeanne to be responsive to their needs and a strong advocate for their interests.

Respect the clients wishes
I was a client of Jeanne Byunm Hipes, she was retained for a litigation case. A couple of months later she wanted me to sign up for unemployment which I never wanted to do. I was denied unemployent. What she did that I did not like nor want was she wanted to appeal that case. It was costing me a l...
I note this person did not sign his/her name, but rated me 4 stars on keeping him/her informed. We keep all clients informed of what is going on in their cases, and have never been told by any client that we were providing a service s/he did not want. If a client tells us s/he does not want to pursue a particular course of action, we do not pursue that course of action. It is our objective, always, to put the client in the best position possible to get the best result possible, consistent with his/her stated objectives. Had we ever been directed to drop a matter, we certainly would have done so promptly, while advising the client of the ramifications of that decision and alternative courses of action. The client always has the right and opportunity to make the decision to stop the progression of any case. We have never forced a client down any path, nor have we ever taken action contrary to our client's expressed directions or wishes. If a client does not want to pursue or pay for a particular course of action, of course, s/he must so advise us during our many discussions about what is going on in the case. This is always the client's decision and we respect and follow whatever the client decides and directs us to do, even if the decision may result in negative legal consequences, which consequences are always fully disclosed. In the case of an unemployment action, events occurring therein may impact other litigation and therefore need to be carefully controlled to the extent possible. There are times when the unemployment weekly payment is not the issue, but rather the holdings in the case that may affect other much higher-dollar litigation. The above posting is misleading and characterizes how this firm operates in an inappropriate and false light. employment settlement
Jeanne was extremely knowledgeable on employment law, and was very responsive. I appreciated her diligence in seeing my situation through to the end. She helped negotiate a discrimination settlement with my prior employer that was fair and equitable. There were times I wanted to just wrap it up, bu...

"I endorse this lawyer! Jeanne is a ferocious advocate for her clients; at the same time, she’s extremely pleasant to be around."
"Jeanne is an exceptional attorney. She brings a rare blend of strong advocacy, kindness, compassion and creativity to the table. These strengths allow her to be effective in cases that other lawyers might be inclined to turn down. She is also very pleasant and easy to talk to, which makes her a pleasure to work with."
"Ms. Hipes is one of the smartest lawyers I have ever worked with. I was impressed by the depth of her experience and her openness to using and developing new negotiating techniques. She is one of the few lawyers I know who has mastered the art of staying professional while strongly advocating for her client. She is personable. Not only do I enjoy working with her, I would hire her if I needed an employment lawyer."
