I retained Mr. Patterson last year for a divorce. He anticipated my questions with such insight that I barely had to ask any. His fees were reasonable and his work was exemplary. Mr. greatest takeaway from this experience was that this attorney genuinely cares about people. If you or someone you know is in need of legal services, I highly recommend Wayne Patterson!
I hired Wayne as my divorce attorney back in 2013. On my initial visit, I explained to him that my husband had left the marital home, stopped making the mortgage payments and that I was in need of spousal support. Wayne worked hard on my behalf to ensure that I received everything that I was entitle to. This included: spousal support, ALL of the proceed of the sale of the marital home, property divisions - boats, and attorney fees. In my opinion, "Wayne delivers professionalism, determination, and respect for the courts in a confident manner while maintaining honesty and integrity. You will not come across an attorney who will work harder for his clients. I highly recommend Wayne to anyone seeking legal representation and applaud his concrete values and morals."
Caring and compassionate advice and legal representation during one of the most emotional times in your life and one that can effect you for the rest of your life.
Nationally recognized in speeding ticket and traffic related issues. Former owner of trucking company with extensive experience in DOT and CDL related violations. Extensive experience in truck accidents.
I have over forty five years of business and legal experience. Prior to entering law, I owned and managed corporations involved in various fields of the construction industry and am a past president of Carolinas Associated General Contractors. I currently handle divorce, probate, estate planning, personal injury and construction claims. I have successfully settled a lawsuit against a city for sewer backup into a residence and a developer for faulty construction of a residence. My years of business and personal experience enable me to offer my clients professional advice and legal representation from a point of view that is not available from many other attorneys.
I graduated from North Carolina State University in 1972 with a BS in Civil Engineering and Cum Laude in 2008 from the Charleston School of Law.
While my office is in Greenville, I practice on a regular basis in all areas of the state, especially in the Charleston area including Berkeley and Dorchester Counties. I have extensive trial experience in common law marriage disputes and military divorces. It doesn't cost you anything to give me a call to discuss your options. My number is.

Out of State Will
Attorney Patterson handled our Uncles estate which was clouded by having no will and persons not leaving property after his death. As we were out of state Attorney Patterson handled all court appearances and filings for the estate without issue, we will be forever grateful to him.

Jennifer, Client
My father passed away and unfortunately my step mom did not act the same way as she did while he was alive. My step mother did not notify his children over his passing until a week after he was buried, as well as, made it very difficult to resolve my fathers estate. The case was very difficult since my father's estate consist of past relatives wills that went through his estate into his children's estate. The emotions ran higher than usual due to our families heirlooms being removed from his property without notification or inventoried, and the fact the land had been in my family for almost 200 years before proper documents were kept.
I went through two lawyers before being blessed to have Mr. Patterson represent the executrix with closing the estate. Mr. Patterson was more knowledgeable and helped finish what two other lawyers were incompetent to do. He was able to get updated quickly with the case with short notice. He was educated over how the land divided through different relatives (with the same first name), as well as, which parcels of land was in my father's estate and which ones were automatically his children's.
Mr. Patterson is excellent at law, but also he's well knowledgeable over many other avenues that help with understanding your case. When closing my father's estate he was able to negotiate with hostile family members, UCC forms, variety of lawyers, real estate brokers, accountants, clearing titles, court employees, appraisers, tenants not paying, power of attorney forms, trust with deceased family members, land surveyors, etc.
I had a very unusual case that many lawyers refused to take since it was very difficult to win and to understand. My father did not update his will in over 25 years and due to laws changing, caused a lot of problems and heartache. It was very difficult to deal with all the families' emotions and how the laws would apply to resolve, but he did with integrity, honesty and efficiency. I also faced many different laws such as: law of perpetuity, old wills and titles without proper metes and bounds, omitted spouse law, cloudy titles, a property that's landlocked with no accessible road, and many other issues that have arisen over resolving this estate. What two lawyers were unable to do for two years was easily understood and handled by Mr. Patterson efficiently within one week prior going to court.
Since settling the estate, I have had Mr. Patterson not far from reach over any other legal issue I have had in the last few years. My aunt is a grandmother, wanting to obtain rights to her grandchildren since she has been an active role model in their lives, even before her daughter passed away. He has given excellent advice and suggested a few resolutions. I also recommended a family member to have him advise her over her will and he helped and went up and above with additional legal advice and research. Now he is helping me research a business endeavor to see if it is profitable and the federal laws I will need to comply with.
I have dealt with many types of lawyers and Mr. Patterson is above most of the attorneys I have worked with or been advised by. I always joke he is "my Perry Mason" because he is very warm, sincere, and does not price gauge. He truly offers you legal advice to help you. He does not charge you by the second/minute when you are speaking with him and never takes advantage of you to just get the mighty dollar. I would recommend Mr. Patterson for any of your legal needs.

Recommand for Wayne Patterson
I hired Mr.. Patterson for my legal separation but then it turned into a divorce. He was so great. He was a GOD'S BLESSING to me and my children during the whole process. He serves Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties and does an amazing job at it. He knows and understands military law as it plays a part in a family court case like it did in my family court case. He was understanding, very responsive and truly knowledgeable about every part of military law that played a part in my case even down to the Civil Serves Laws that can and did come into play like it did in my case. He and I kept each other informed via email and telephone and he allows got back to me in a timely manner. He was so very helpful and understanding about my case. He treated me like family by leading me an ear when I needed to talk and very informative about what each step of the process was.

Not professional
Simply…go elsewhere….Mr Patterson created drama in our divorce that was unnecessary.
