Mandy Kimmons has lived in South Carolina for over 20 years. She attended Summerville High School and went on to attend the University of South Carolina where she double-majored in Political Science and Spanish. In 2005, she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts. In 2005, Mandy received the Outstanding Senior in Political Science Award from the Department of Political Science at the University of South Carolina. She began law school at the age of 20 and received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2008 when she was 23. Mandy is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Mandy was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2008. She immediately began prosecuting cases in the First Judicial Circuit in South Carolina. During her career as a prosecutor, Mandy handled many kinds of cases including Reckless Homicide, Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, Attempted Armed Robbery, Strong Arm Robbery, Criminal Domestic Violence, Assault and Battery, Drug Cases including Drug Distribution, Drug Trafficking, and Drug Manufacturing, Burglary, and other types of cases. In 2014, Mandy began managing the juvenile docket for Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties which included trying multiple cases in Family Court.
Mandy enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Mandy also enjoys traveling to Latin America when she gets the opportunity. Mandy's travels to Latin America consist of participating in a language program in Mexico and a mission trip to Nicaragua.
Mandy also enjoys helping others. In 2015, she was a Torchbearer for the 2015 Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America and also participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Lock-up. Mandy currently serves as the Continuing Legal Education Chair for the Dorchester County Bar Association.
