So I’ve been in a situation for a while with the mother of my children which I will not go into deep detail about, however on September 25th, 2019 I was granted legal joint custody for my awesome children. Moving forward the mother had left the state of South Carolina prior to the hearing on 9/25..., and with that being her 8th move in 5 different states I figured I would still have the upper hand. Wrong! So I decided to reach out to Ms. Daryn Barker for legal advice and I explained the entire situation and also scanned my court docs over for her to review. Note: I’m an African American Man and it pleases me to see Caucasian Americans who care about African American fathers having major roles in their children’s lives especially male children. Moving forward, so we spoke the same day I reached out (surprisingly) and I could feel the passion and pain she had after hearing my situation. She listened and listened more and gave me honest answers along with sympathy. Ms. Daryn Barker then told me she’s going to review and look into a few things later that evening about my case and get back to me the following day. She kept her word and we spoke about the situation the next day. Now although she wouldn’t be able to assist me because of a certain law in place (mom) has been gone for more than 6 months out of the state, however she gave me the best answer she could and I followed up the same day with the Clerk of Court in Florida where (mom) is located to get it resolved and what do you know boom all I have to do is get the order registered so it’ll be enforced, because (mom) is has been giving me an extremely hard time. There’s no words to express the gratitude I have for this woman/lady/superstar lawyer! Now understand this she offers a free consultation, I offered to pay she refused I offered again she refused again, and her last words were “I care about people” need I say more!
