Do not hire for wrongful death

When I hired this attorney for an insurance claim, I trusted him completely. His fees were higher than others, but I assumed that meant better service. Over time, I began to see things differently. He felt less like a trusted advocate and more like a used car salesman — full of reassurances but short... on substance. One phrase he used was “We carry the risk if it goes to trial.” It sounded comforting at first, but I eventually understood what it really means — you are the risk. You are the one with everything to lose. It’s a sales tactic, not a promise. By the time I understood what was happening, I felt like a transaction, not a client. He did not put my needs first. Ask hard questions, compare fees, and be cautious of smooth talkers.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I understand that this matter involved extremely difficult circumstances, and I respect that you remain dissatisfied with the experience. This was a challenging claim on liability and damages, and our focus throughout was on securing the maximum recovery available. In the end, we obtained even more than the applicable amount of insurance coverage available for the loss and pursued every reasonable avenue to do so. While I regret that the outcome did not meet your expectations in all respects, I stand by the work performed and the result achieved. I wish you the best moving forward and I am always happy to discuss again directly.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
