A Spartanburg man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for planning a bank robbery with his teenage son. Calvin T. Williams, 39, was found guilty of bank robbery and sentenced to life in prison w ... ithout the possibility of parole. Williams was sentenced in accordance with South Carolina’s two-strike and three-strike law for repeat offenders, according to the statement. Williams has prior convictions for two bank robberies, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and property crimes. In January 2015, Williams and his son, Shyquone, then 16, robbed the BB&T branch on W.O. Ezell Boulevard. Shyquone Williams entered the bank wearing a dark hoodie and waited in line before demanding money with a handwritten note that was written at the direction of Calvin Williams by Shyquone Williams. The teller gave him money from her drawer and Shyquone Williams left the building and walked toward a van parked near a neighboring business. Where Calvin Williams waited for him and shortly afterwards they were both captured by law enforcement. .
