Gettis Andre Chambers shot Tyshann R. Smith, 28, on Aug. 7, 2017 twice in his back. The shooting happened while Chambers and Smith sat in a parked car at Biggerstaff Grocery on Farley Ave In Spartanbu...rg SC. He changed his appearance and fled to Maryland, where he was arrested two weeks later in a home with guns and illegal drugs. Plead guilty to Murder and Armed Robbery on 4/24/18 in front of Judge Derham Cole. Spartanburg County sheriff's deputies received a call asking them to check on Pye in his home on June 25, 2017, prose...cutors said. They forced entry into his home and found the grisly crime scene: Pye lying face down in his bedroom, the walls and ceiling of which were covered in blood. Prosecutors said Ellis fled in Pye's truck and later parked the stolen vehicle at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens. The pipe used to kill Pye was found in the truck, still stained with his blood. He received a 40 year sentence for the Murder and a 30 year concurrent sentence for the Armed Robbery. OUTCOME: Plead Guilty to Burglary 1st, 2 counts of AR, 2 counts of Assault and Battery 1st Degree, 2 counts of Kidnapping, PWDVC, and Possession of Stolen Pistol and received a total sentence of 25 years.
The home invasion occurred at a Belcher Road home on July 28 2017. The occupant called 911 and reported that two men with guns kicked in the front door of their home and demanded property. They stole c...ash, jewelry, a video game and a small amount of marijuana, according to the statement. Two people inside the home were assaulted during the invasion, with one person beaten in the head with a gun while another was pushed to the ground. One of the gunmen fired a weapon near one of the victim’s heads while the victim was face down on the floor.
Johnson and an accomplice ran from the home and were arrested a short time later. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office recovered the stolen property.

OUTCOME: Pled Guilty to Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime on March 12, 2018. He was sentenced to 40 Years on the Murder charge and 5 Years concurrent on the Weapon charge.
Authorities charged Perry in the December 22, 2016 death of 31-year-old Tiffany Dale Cartee. Investigators say Cartee was driving a 2003 Ford Expedition when Perry shot her in the head from the front s...eat while two others were in the car. After the shooting, the vehicle hit a tree.
Perry fled, but was found hiding in the crawl space of a nearby home.

OUTCOME: pled guilty to two counts of armed robbery, five counts of kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and received a 20 year sentence from Judge J. Mark Hayes.
The bank robbery occurred Aug. 29, 2016, at the Spartan Federal Credit Union, 930 Charisma Dr. where Banner wore a black ski mask and he carried the shotgun when he entered the business. Banner pulled ...three people out of side office and pulled two others from behind the counter before firing the shotgun.
Banner fled the bank with a sum of money and stole a pickup truck at gunpoint. The truck was abandoned a few minutes later in the parking lot of the old Campus Place Apartments. Investigators believe Banner fled the area in a BMW that was parked in the area prior to the bank robbery. The BMW was found at his grandmother's house in Moore, SC. A search warrant was executed on his BMW and the house and the shotgun, shotgun shells, and money from the bank were found. The Defendant repeatedly stabbed the victim, 38-year-old Amie Cordova, of Honea Path, on April 14, 2015, at the Jordan Road home that Paris shared with his parents, He later took her 4 year old child... and drove off in the victim’s vehicle. They were found a short time later on the side of a Greenville County road in Cordova’s van. Deputies rescued the child and took Paris into custody. The child was found with dried blood on her, face, hands, arms and the soles of her shoes when she was rescued.

OUTCOME: Pled Guilty to Murder- given a Life Sentence
Wilford Lee Jr. killed Christina Michelle Humphries. Ms. Humprhies died from blunt force trauma and burns. Her partially clothed body was found in a wooded area near South Center Street. She was found... lying facedown with kerosene-fueled burns on her head, shoulders and legs. Ms. Humphries was about four months pregnant. Mr. Lee was connected to the crime by DNA. Lee admitted to repeatedly punching Humphries during an argument in his car.
Lee admitted he set Humphries on fire to try to cover up the crime. He also tried to wash some of the clothes he wore during the crime.

Akello Jeter shot Autumn R. Hunt, 19, to death on Feb. 3, 2016.
Hunt’s father reported her missing on Feb. 4, 2016 and her Jeep Liberty was
recovered 4 days in the parking lot behind the Bi-Lo Shoppi...ng Center on John B. White
Sr. Boulevard. The passenger seat of the vehicle was badly burned. Sheriff’s deputies
found a GPS unit on the roof of the shopping center that led them to the secluded
grassy field in the Arkwright community where Hunt’s body was discovered during the
evening of Feb. 11, 2016.
Deputies used Hunt’s Facebook account along with information obtained from the
recovered GPS unit to identify Jeter as a suspect in the murder.
City police arrested Jeter and another person on Feb. 11 in connection to the
armed robbery and kidnapping of the local teens at a South Church Street location.
After his arrest, Jeter admitted to shooting Hunt to death. A ballistics test
conducted on a .40 Glock handgun used during the robbery was connected to a bullet
casing found near Hunt’s body. Investigators also learned that Jeter sold Hunt’s cell
telephone after the homicide.
