About me


Attorney Josh Lonon practices in the areas of family law, real estate transactions and civil litigation and is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, the highest available rating for legal experience and competence. A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he served as both Managing Editor of the Southeastern Environmental Law Journal and a nationally competing member of the Moot Court Bar, Mr. Lonon began his legal career as law clerk for the Hon. G. Thomas Cooper, Jr., Judge for South Carolina's Fifth Judicial Circuit. Mr. Lonon then practice with a firm in Columbia, South Carolina in the areas of title insurance defense litigation, complex commercial transactions and employment law.



Before returning to his home town of Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2006, Mr. Lonon worked as South Carolina state counsel for a national title insurance company, handlng underwriting decisions and assisting attorneys across the state with legal research and solutions for real estate problems.  In his role, he often presented and wrote materials for continuing educations seminars for attorneys across the state.


Mr. Lonon founded the Lonon Law Firm in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2007 which later merged with Lawrence & Rudasill, P.A. to form Lawrence, Lonon & Rudasill, LLC. Mr. Lonon is a partner with the firm. He has been highly involved with the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar and is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg.  Mr. Lonon has also completed the prestigious 2013 Houston Family Law Trial Institute hosted by the South Texas College of Law. The Institute is an intensive eight-day training program which includes small group and individualized instruction in such areas as business valuation, evidence, and child custody evaluations (including the use of psychological testing). The program instructors are some of the most experienced and respected family law litigators and judges in the nation.



Mr. Lonon resides in Spartanburg, South Carolina with his wife, Julie, and his two sons, Alex and Charlie.
