Excellent Attorney
Ben Stevens is an excellent attorney. I sought Ben’s representation several years ago. My situation was quite complex. It involved issues such as clearly outlining custody/visitation arrangements, child support, and harassment. Ben proved himself to be extremely professional. He did a great job of helping to find creative solutions. When court appearances were necessary, he was well prepared to offer effective, aggressive representation. I’d also like to note that even though he was in high demand, he always managed to make me feel as though my case was a priority. He made himself available to offer responses in a timely manner. I’m pleased with my decision to hire Ben. Signed: A pleased client

I highly recommend Ben Stevens.
Ben Stevens is extremely professional and very well respected in the community and among his peers. When facing what I knew was going to be a difficult divorce, I needed an attorney that would have my best interest and my children's best interest at heart. I could not have made a better decision when I hired Ben Stevens as my attorney. Ben argued tirelessly, even when faced with what seemed to be impossible situations. I highly recommend Ben Stevens to anyone facing difficult family law issues.

Thank you for your kind words. Difficult cases are always made easier by having a client who is so cooperative and works with his attorney the way you did. I don't ever mind undertaking a challenge, nor do I get tired of fighting to protect my clients. I am glad that we were able to achieve a positive outcome in your case. Thanks again for such a positive review, I truly appreciate it.

Great lawyer
Very professional, knowledgeable. He is straightforward and I have used his services several times. My case was a particularly nasty child support/custody case and I am glad that I had an attorney like him fighting for me. I highly recommend him to anyone needing services in his field.
Response from J. Benjamin Stevens September 22, 2015
The fact that you chose to retain me multiple times is one of the highest compliments that you can pay to me and my firm, as it demonstrates the trust you placed in me and the confidence you had in our ability time and time again. I appreciate your kind words, and as you well know, we are here if and when you need us again.

BEST ATTORNEY EVER!!!
I hired Attorney Ben Stevens to handle my divorce. He always listened to my concerns and gave me great advice!! He even gave me advice I didn't want to hear because I was only thinking emotionally and not realistically. Most importantly, he was ALWAYS available for any problem I may have, always responded quickly and he fought for me!!! Since my divorce I've recommended him a few times and will continue to do so. He's an AMAZING attorney and I want to THANK him for helping me through a very difficult time of my life!!

I am humbled by such lavish praise, but I truly appreciate it. One of the keys of being a successful divorce attorney is telling your clients what they *need* to hear, and not what they *want* to hear. Also, it is important to ensure that our clients make informed decisions and not emotional ones. I am glad that you gave me the opportunity to work with you on your case and that we were able to achieve a positive outcome.

Ben Stevens: A Class Above
After an unpleasent experience with a reputable attorney who was willing to take my money but not listen to my concerns. I found myself seeking new representation. I hired Ben with the understanding that he would listen to my concerns and fight for what I wanted and not what was simply the courtroom norm. To my surprise, not only did he listen but he set proper expectations for the potential outcomes in the negotiations and in the courtroom. Additionally, he made recommendations that would potentially produce the same desired ruling while putting me in the best negotiation position possible. Most understand that it is customary, with all things being equal, for the mother to be awaded custody but as a man who won custody of his child I am confident in recommending Ben Stevens to fight for your best interest. I found that Ben was knowlegable of family law and respected among his peers within the courtroom. He will be honest with you, provide you your options along with probabilities of the outcome for each circumstance and allow you to make the decision on what you want to do next. I trust Ben and have recommended him numerous times.

It was almost two decades ago when you first retained me, and I remember quite well all of the many battles that we fought side by side in the courtroom over many years. You have referred dozens of people to me in the years since, which I consider to be the highest compliment that a client can pay his attorney. I have tried to model my practice and my reputation on honesty, tenacity, and creativity, and those factors have enabled me to achieve positive outcomes in many cases that other lawyers didn't even want to attempt. I appreciate the trust you placed in me way back when, and I'm glad that we have become friends in the years since then.

Ben is the only attorney you will ever need!
Mr. Steven's has been my "go to" attorney in every case since 2007! I have utilized him in several cases and always came out on top. His primary goals are accessibility, aggressiveness, and creativity in helping solve clients problems without the need for court, but being prepared to try each case if we are forced to do so, in which he's done all of that for me and my family. He makes you feel like family and I love that about his Law Firm. I can ALWAYS depend on Ben.

Our team works very hard to help our clients through difficult times in their lives. We realize that no one ever comes to see us on their best days, and often times they are in our office on the worst of days. While we are hopeful that we can amicably resolve cases, we prepare each one as if we are going to trial, and we are ready if and when we are forced to do so. Thank you for your kind words about me and my team – I sincerely appreciate it.

Ben Stevens
I highly recommend Ben Stevens for divorce/family law. He is very professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and smart. He is a very good listener and was extremely calming for me during my divorce process. He was always accessible to me when I needed to meet with him or talk to him on the phone. He was also very responsive via email. He was great to work with despite it being a very difficult time in my life. He really helped me get through it. I have needed him a couple of times after my divorce as well and he was again very helpful.

Response from J. Benjamin Stevens September 22, 2015
Having been through it myself, I understand that divorce can be a difficult thing for some people to face. As a result, everyone on our team makes a concerted effort to make the process as "painless" as possible for our clients. We do this through being understanding and compassionate toward the situations they are facing, and by making ourselves available when they need to discuss any concerns about the issues in their case. We strive to paint a realistic picture for every client, so that they know what outcomes are possible and which are most likely, as that can be quite reassuring. We are glad that you are pleased with our services, and I thank you for your review and your kind words.

Outcome focused with client's interest as priority
Like most attorney's, Ben has his clients best interest as a first priority and understands what's important to them; however, the differentiator was Ben's responsiveness and sense of urgency on getting back to his clients. Response time was important to me given the geographic disparity and nature of my case as well as the anxiety it carried with it. In addition to Ben's prompt communication, he was very outcome oriented and when working with his clients re-directs their mind set to think of the facts of the case and not the emotion (data and facts will steer the direction of the case). Moreover, he was transparent and shared an opposing view (not to discourage) but to facilitate the decision making process. While Ben's communication and creativity toward results were equally important, what I really liked about Ben was his ability to identify with my case and relate back to his experiences and not just look at my case as revenue stream for his firm.

Response from J. Benjamin Stevens September 22, 2015
One of the first things we do in every case is map out a unique strategy that makes the most sense for that particular matter, as we know that no two family court cases are alike. We always make an effort to respond as promptly as possible to our clients (near and far), and I appreciate your kind words in that regard. When we represent clients who are located outside of SC, we make every effort to utilize technology to keep them up to date on the status of their cases. Hopefully you will not need us again, but you know that we will be here ready to spring into action if you do.

Not worth the money (I didn't have)
This attorney is extremely overpriced. I had to secure a loan and max a credit card to pay my fees. My case was a simple, uncomplicated case that cost me thousands. The resolution was a big disappointment. I expected to come out with a FAIR agreement but very little argument was given on my behalf or in my defense. Little to no push back was displayed during meetings it was like we just threw in the towel and conceded that we would take what we can get.

I have no way of verifying who wrote this review, but I seriously doubt it was one of my firm's clients. My reputation as being willing to fight to protect my clients' rights is well known by my colleagues, both attorneys and judges alike. In fact, I have even had situations in the past where the opposing party later retained me (in unrelated matters) because they were so impressed with the results I obtained against them. It's unfortunate that someone chose to post an anonymous negative review, but I hope the other reviews serve as ample evidence of the type of attorney I am and the type of service I provide to my clients.
