Attorney Dan Kienker provided adoption services for my husband and son last year. I was then and am still now very happy with his services. We had brief, quick face to face meetings which were straight to the point and very clear on what and why he was asking certain questions, what the next steps in... the process were, and what any additional fees pertained to (i.e. - court filing fee, guardian ad litem fee, etc.). HE would contact me personally to notify me of any updates in the process which I really appreciated. There were a few times where I myself would reach out for an update and he was very quick to respond (always 24 hours or less). This was so important to me because I have had less than great experience with communication with lawyers in my past. He was very fair priced for us too. He looked at our situation as a whole and customized the pricing based off of that. He actually saved us thousands compared to other lawyers in the area who would have provided the same service and nothing more. When my son was officially adopted by my husband, Dan was able to work with the court to make it a ‘fun’ and ‘exciting’ day for my son who was present during the process. That was a very memorable day for all three of us and I am very thankful I had the attorney that I did so that I didn’t have any unnecessary stressors on our big day.

So I went with Daniel because he seemed very knowledgeable about step -parent adoption . Also he had good reviews on many sites . Well wow was my experience different . I’m only giving one star because I can’t give no stars . So after having the consult and explaining our situation for adoption he wa...s very confident and said he’s handled many cases like ours . Also said it was very simple as well . So we decided to hire him and give him his retainer . Gave him all the information he needed and asked for . Then all of a sudden things he knew before he took the case he wasn’t sure . Had to keep looking into things he said he already knew . Then things that weren’t an issue , after being paid were know a huge issue . He all of a sudden was not knowledgeable in our certain circumstances . How he wanted to fix the situation was a big no from us which i told him several times and from the beginning . Even though I kept saying that doesn’t work for us I kept getting emails with the same response and nothing new . He knew our case before and clearly should not have taken it as he wasn’t confident or knowledagble at all . Have called several other lawyers now and realized he was so wrong on so many things . I’m so thankful we cut ties even though we lost all that money for nothing . Since he didn’t end up doing anything for us .
