Mr. Miller graduated magna cum laude from New England College in May of 1979 and cum laude from Tulane University School of Law in May of 1982, where he was a member of th Noot Court Board from 1980 through 1982. Following his graduation from law school, he joined the New Orleans office of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere and Denegre LLP, now known as Jones Walker LLP, one of the largest law firms in the country– See, . He was a member of that firm’s General Business Section for close to 20 years. In February of 2002, at the behest of a legal headhunter, Mr. Miller left Jones, Walker to join a smaller firm, the Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin and Hubbard P.C. law firm, in New Orleans. He practiced with Lugenbuhl, Wheaton until September of 2005, when he and his family relocated to Western North Carolina following Hurricane Katrina.
After he was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar during the summer of 2006, Mr. Miller opened a law office in Bryson City, North Carolina, the county seat for Swain County, North Carolina. In September of 2012, he relocated his principal office to Sylva, North Carolina, the county seat for Jackson County, North Carolina. The move to Sylva physically positions the office to serve clients from a larger geographic area, given Sylva’s centralized location in Western North Carolina. Mr. Miller currently continues to practice tansactional law in Sylva.
