When you need a Military Lawyer look no farther. Unfortunately I had an anonymous complaint against me. My unit moved me to another unit while conducting the investigation. My command did not inform me of the allegation. Nor did they inform me of where anything was in the process. I had zero idea of ...what was going on, within 24 hours of hiring Eric I knew basically what the complaint was. Once notified I was receiving a page 11 for PAC order violations I did not commit, I began to seek options for legal counsel. After talking to a few friends in the SJA community, Eric Kopka continued to be a name that was highly recommended. If fact, he kept being referred to as a "F#&king Assassin..." and the only person you want representing you if you have to go to a Board of Inquiry (BOI). My case did go to a recommended show cause (BOI) and the Kopka legal team preformed brilliantly! They remained engaged with not only me, but also the MEF SJA staff. I will say, if you are in this situation, you will do a lot of work ensuring they have what they need to defend you at your BOI! I spent countless hours supporting the requests for information they pushed to me and produced a few hundred pages in support of this! But I guarantee the hours they put in preparing for my case exceeded my inputs. After many preparation sessions, I went to my BOI confident, with tons of support through character statements and witnesses to be called upon. Eric represented me in a way which exceeded my expectations and in the end all PAC order violations were unsubstantiated and I was retained for continued service! I hired Eric when I was deployed after I was the subject of a command investigation due alleged misconduct. I knew I wanted to hire a former military judge advocate who was familiar with the Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), not to mention he had great reviews. Hiring Eric was a no brainer. ... I would like to start by saying that Mr. Kopka is without a doubt the best civilian lawyer in the area that will look out for you, and make sure you get the best outcome! His professionalism and determination is unmatched. He’s is very realistic when he is having his one on one time with you.
