Very rude

I had asked a legal question on a platform and asked about when a vehicle is towed if they can charge you for days they are closed. She decided to tell me I had a very “entitled attitude “ for asking this question and said that was probably the reason my vehicle had been towed. She has a poor attitud...e and as a divorce attorney I would never hire this lady by how she speaks to people!

It is my opinion that your car got towed because of your attitude with the officer. Normally your car would not have been towed for what you were charged with. When you ask a question on a public forum normal people understand you may get responses you like and you may get responses you don't like. You don't get to dictate how others respond - you simply take the information you get and do with it what you think is best. You seem to think if the answer isn't to your liking that the responder is rude, this is the very definition of entitled and your review not only demonstrates that but also shows my theory of why your car was towed is likely accurate. In short, your car likely got towed because of you and that's simple truth not rudeness.

Rude and disrespectful

I wouldn't let her help me for free. Unprofessional and rude. Don't waste your time!

Unprofessional

I find that Amanda was very unprofessional with her response to a question I stated on AVVO directed towards an attorney I previously spoke to. Instead of her giving her expertise or advice as a licensed lawyer, she make a mockery and joke of my question.

You never consulted with me. You asked a question on a public forum and I answered it. Of course, you had already asked your question prior and had other attorneys answer it, yet you seem to think you know better than them because you have done some 'research'. Bottomline, when you ask a question on a public forum, you do not get to dictate the responses you get. While you clearly would have preferred a different style of answer, you simply aren't entitled to it. I however, am entitled to answer your joke of a question in the manner I see fit. Besides what would be the point of answering your question a second time? You have already asked the question and got responses. Do you really think the answers will change? While there's nothing wrong with getting a second opinion, exactly how many attorneys does it take all telling you the same thing before you become just a giant waste of everyone's time?

I didn't check reviews!

The rudest most unprofessional and laziest lawyer I have ever experienced! When stationed at Camp Lejuene more than 15 years ago I got a ticket before deployment to Iraq. I since returned and left North Carolina forgetting about the ticket. After getting a license from two separate states I moved t...o Georgia and realized Georgia would not give me a license because of a 15 year old ticket in North Carolina. I hired this lawyer to restore my driving privilege in North Carolina so I could get a drivers license in Georgia. She assured me if there was nothing more than the ticket she could get the ticket handled and my driving privilege restored. She got the ticket handled and notified me so. I went to Georgia DMV where they told me my driving privilege was not restored in North Carolina so I still couldn't get a license. I called Houser, first she said for me to call North Carolina DMV because there must be another infraction. I called, DMV, from Georgia, and it turns out even though I paid her in advance she didn't pay the reinstatement fee. North Carolina DMV tells me that I need to arrive in person or have someone come in and pay, in person. I called her back, explained the situation and she got downright nasty! She said, what do you expect from a 15 year old ticket? I was stunned! I offered to pay an additional fee just to get this cleared up. houser refused and got even nastier and said she only goes to court and not DMV! I was mortified and hung up the the phone. Clearly this woman is in the wrong business!

You hired us to handle a traffic ticket that you ignored for 15 years - we did that. You did not hire us to restore your driving privilege, you were told in no uncertain terms, we don't handle DMV matters and that you needed to make arrangements to pay your own reinstatement fee. Then you basically cried, then were rude and by your own admission - hung up on us (likely to go to your safe space) because I wasn't taking any of your crap. My firm does not coddle or kowtow to rude, entitled people like other businesses or law firms may do because they are afraid of bad reviews. Generally, you get what you give in this world and this is as it should be. When you act like a jerk to us - we are going to treat you accordingly. Anyone hiring a lawyer should not want one who sucks up to rude people like you and anyone reading your review ought to ignore it.

Very unhappy

I retained The Houser Law Firm to complete my divorce. My experience with the Houser Law Firm has been as bad as it can be. I asked for a refund of services not yet provided because I was deeply dissatisfied with the rude manner I was being treated. This refund policy is plainly stated on their websi...te. I was denied my refund. Ms. Houser called me and accused me of lying about the way her staff had treated me. I still have not gotten my refund or my divorce. I am deeply unhappy with the poor service and treatment I received. I would never recommend her services to anyone.

You are a liar - you accused us of fraud and stealing from you on a Google review - accusations which you knew and have since admitted were untrue. A review which you promptly edited after we informed you we'd lake legal action. You are also an outright liar here as well. You know full well why you have not received a refund - yet you try and make it seem like its our fault and not yours. You were told we can not yet give you a refund because you informed us you have made fraud complaints to your bank / financial institution and we now can not refund your money until that is resolved. Your have caused all these problems yourself because you are simply one of those trifling, awful people in the world that businesses have to deal with once in a while. So basically, you deserve to be unhappy and your review ignored..

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
