I was very pleased with Connie and Jennifer. My husband wanted a divorce shortly after the death of our youngest daughter. I had been a stay at home mom for 18 years at the time. Connie fought for everything I wanted and gave me guidance if she thought there was a better way to go. Both Connie and... her paralegal, Jennifer, always promptly answered my calls and emails no matter how minor my questions were.

I cannot start to thank Connie enough for all she has done for me during my very difficult time. Connie was always there for me when I needed her and always helped me with her professional option. I could not have gotten through this without her. I would advise anyone who is having trouble reach ou...t to Connie because I can tell you not only is she very professional and knows what she is doing, she cares about her clients and what is best for them. I would never go to anyone else for advice and still today I have questions and she is always there. Thank you Connie to you and your staff for your care and support!

I had a lengthy consultation with Connie Payne about potentially representing me in my divorce case. I have interviewed several lawyers and she was BY FAR the most unprofessional and unhelpful (at a time when I was the most vulnerable and in the most need of help). She was the "doomsday prophet" to... say the least and left me feeling as though my marital situation was an impossible one to get out of. She outright dismissed several important factors regarding my situation and she did not listen to me at all - SHE only spoke the entire time. She was rude, brusk and went so far as to speak poorly of other lawyers I had interviewed (and I did not ask for her feedback). She is the last person on earth I would hire to represent me in a divorce case and she spoke down to me as if I was a child. When I spoke of emotional abuse within my marriage for example, she said it wouldn't "cut it" in court and to my horror said I would "have to come up with something more" and then followed up by saying "well, does he (my husband) beat you senseless?" with a smirk on her face. She was insensitive to a degree I cannot put into words and she clearly has absolutely no education about domestic violence or how to deal with the issues it entails. She doesn't even deserve one star. It was a horrible experience and a complete waste of money. Additionally, she only takes cash or cashier's check - no credit or debit cards and no personal checks - you can make of that what you will. I found it extremely odd. If you consider hiring her - look on the internet for positive reviews and you will find out what I did - there are none. Nothing can be found on her despite her practicing in the same area for 30 years. The other lawyers I interviewed had many positive reviews that I found easily and quickly online. Connie Payne only has only one review online on this site and it's terrible. I concur with that review 100%. Steer clear of this woman.

I had a somewhat simple divorce. Not much that needed splitting up. I knew I wanted shared custody of my son and I needed a good attorney for that. At our first court appearance we never got in front of the judge due to the court system not having a reporter that day. At the guidance of Connie the ju...dge ruled based on what both attorneys submitted that day. Connie was socked in the mouth that day by what my ex’s attorney (Cherie Barton) submitted to the judge as truth. She never recovered after that. Needless to say I continued to pay her because I was trusting her guidance. My tab finally reached $30,000 and I never got in front of a judge. I was so mad at myself by this point because I had trusted her to do what was right and fight for me. She did neither. I wanted my day in court to prove the allegations against me were false. Connie didn’t want to fight for me at that point. Her idea was to throw my money at my ex and hope for the shared custody I was seeking. After I was asked for an additional $5000, which would have brought my total to $35000, I fired Connie at that point and sought the guidance of Tom Holland. Tom was willing to put up a fight for me at a fraction of the cost. After it was all said and done, I pay child support only, no attorney or PI fees. I kept all property. So don’t go on the advice of your friends. Don’t hire an expensive attorney because you think they’re better. They’re not. They suck. They know you have a little money and they guide you into throwing your money at something to get what you want. Divorce is hard enough but when you have attorneys like Connie taking people’s money it makes much harder. Wish I could give NO stars.
