1-Star Review: Terrible Experience, Irresponsible Handling of My Divorce Case I cannot express how disappointed and stressed I am with the level of service I received from Tiyasha N. DeCosta at The DeCosta Law Firm. As a single mother going through a difficult divorce, I trusted this firm to help me... navigate an already overwhelming situation. Unfortunately, their negligence has caused me to face even more hardship, including the risk of losing my home. From the start, communication was minimal. I constantly had to chase down updates, and when I did get a response, it was vague and unhelpful. Important deadlines were missed, and critical decisions were ignored, which directly led to my case being delayed and mishandled. The worst part is that I found myself on the verge of homelessness because of their failure to act. Despite numerous attempts to reach out to Tiyesha N. DeCosta and their office, I was met with silence. I felt completely abandoned during one of the most stressful times of my life. It's not just a matter of poor service—this is a matter of negligence that has had real consequences for me and my child. I regret trusting this firm with my case, and I would not recommend Tiyesha N. DeCosta or The DeCosta Law Firm to anyone going through a divorce. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, find a lawyer who will actually fight for you and communicate effectively.

Hired Ms. Decosta to handle my divorce and custody. Prior lawyer withdrew and was only about 4 months to trial. Ms. Decosta took charge and came up with a legal plan that surpassed my expectations. Her knowledge is so advanced. So personal, you are really talking to a college buddy. She is a pho...ne call away and even called when she was on vacation to make sure we were prepared for court. Tiyesha has been an absolute life saver. She’s extremely knowledgeable, fearless, highly intelligent, logical, she-fights-for-you, she listens, she gives you real information and not just what you want to hear. I could go on and on. Before hiring her I was vert afraid of my controlling ex who had dru...g me through hell and back. He had hired a big money firm to bully me for a while. Other attorneys get nervous at this firm’s name but when I brought them up to Tiyesha assuming she would do the same, she just said “And?” It made zero difference to her and she was purely focused on facts, the law and how she could help me. She backs that confidence up too. After hiring her, in no time I began to actually understand how this system works, what moves to make and not to make, how and when to fight, when to let go, again I could go on and on. She does not waste your money! She thinks in terms of your current situation and way down the road. My only regret is not hiring her much sooner! I’ve experienced other attorneys who only care only or mostly about the money or who didn’t truly invest in what I had going on. Money is a very real piece of this but Tiyesha brings real leadership and peace of mind to the table. She swings hard and fearless like the big name firms and I have no doubt she’s going to go far. I had a seemingly impossible situation and by listening to her and letting her lead I’ve been able to drastically turn the tables. I don’t worry like I used to and I trust her. I have used her for issues with high conflict custody, child support and divorce matters. She also actually cares. Talking to her also often feels like talking to a friend but one of those friends who tells you the truth. She’s authentic and won’t sugar coat things for you. If you want to waste money having someone tell you what you want to hear you'll regret it. But if you want REAL leadership and to WIN, hire Tiyesha!

Mrs. Decosta is excellent at what she does. From start to finish I did not have any worries about my divorce proceedings. During my consultation she got a brief history of my marriage and concisely explained to me everything that I needed to know going forward including fees, possible outcomes, etc. ...Her communication was awesome. She kept me well informed on the status of my divorce along the way and this made me feel at ease. I would not hesitate to contact her if I ever needed her again.
