She is unprofessional and rarely answers calls, texts or emails . Once she got paid, she started ignoring my calls. She makes a lot of excuses, such as being in a car accident or traveling abroad, just to avoid communication. She is very lazy and , you would be better off hiring a reputable lawyer o...r representing yourself than wasting money on her services. I ended up firing her, which turned out to be the best decision I could have made. Her unprofessionalism and lack of responsiveness made it impossible to rely on her services.

DeCosta at The DeCosta Law Firm. As a single mother going through a difficult divorce, I trusted this firm to help me... navigate an already overwhelming situation. Unfortunately, their negligence has caused me to face even more hardship, including the risk of losing my home. From the start, communication was minimal. I constantly had to chase down updates, and when I did get a response, it was vague and unhelpful. Important deadlines were missed, and critical decisions were ignored, which directly led to my case being delayed and mishandled. The worst part is that I found myself on the verge of homelessness because of their failure to act. Despite numerous attempts to reach out to Tiyesha N. DeCosta and their office, I was met with silence. I felt completely abandoned during one of the most stressful times of my life. It's not just a matter of poor service—this is a matter of negligence that has had real consequences for me and my child. I regret trusting this firm with my case, and I would not recommend Tiyesha N. DeCosta or The DeCosta Law Firm to anyone going through a divorce. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, find a lawyer who will actually fight for you and communicate effectively.

I originally contacted her through messaging her on avvo in which she called me after reading. If she finds out she has to actually do any work on your case, she will just take your money, ignore you for months and the NIGHT before your case text you saying she received a message from the court about... your court date and she is not your attorney....even though i have a copy of the letter she emailed to the court saying she was months prior. Then she will ignore you for months still after when you tell her since she is not your attorney and left you high and dry to defend yourself in your custody case the very next money she needs to return the money she has taken from you. She's a con artist who preys on people at their most vulnerable times. Dont hire her!
