Professional and meticulous Attorney - highly recommend him

Mr. Medlin handled a very acrimonious, long, drawn out separation/divorce lasting years. We ended up going to court when the ex refused to be reasonable on any level. Mediation attempts through the court lasted ten minutes, mediation attempts with the lawyers went nowhere but at no time was that the ...fault of Mr. Medlin. It was the opposing side that did nothing but attack and yell. He never steered me wrong, I trusted his guidance, he did things as cost effectively as possible. You get what you pay for and his firm is considered in the top 5. It was worth the end result to protect my family. I didn't want a belligerent, nasty, dramatic or inflammatory lawyer. I wanted someone I could trust to protect my children and I. Someone a Judge would respect, that could handle a terrible situation with professionalism and class. Even though friends advised me that I needed a bulldog to survive the ex’s attorney, I could never work with a belligerent/Perry Mason type. There are a lot in Charlotte that use vicious methods. Don't be fooled into thinking you need an attack dog defense with your lawyer yelling in mediation or in the court room. Make no mistake - he is a GREAT trial lawyer, did a wonderful job in the courtroom, knows the law, works with his clients to get to know you and your situation to put forth the best and most ethical case for you. Mr. Medlin has the ability to win, he did for my children and I and did it without losing his cool. I could tell the Judge respected his manner and presentation as well. He could get his point across but never at any time was he unprofessional inside or outside the court room. He doesn't work that way and you need someone level/logical when the rest of your life is illogical during the divorce process. The opposing attorney could have learned from him; they were belligerent, inflammatory, intent on doing nothing but dragging things out. There was never any chance at mediation when the ex’s lawyer did her level best to blow things out of proportion and remained on the attack at all times. Giving her client guidance that in the end cost the ex quite a bit and left no room for any type of relationship between us. That type of behavior doesn't serve anyone in the end for most cases. You should try to settle outside of court, not damage whatever is left of a communicatory relationship with your ex - especially when children are involved. Mr. Medlin managed his client/me with consideration, empathy, but a firm hand. I had legal representation that responded with common sense and a logical approach when things/I got emotional (which in my situation was unavoidable due to the nature of the lawsuit). Mr. Medlin was always available, responsive, I never had to worry that he would ‘miss’ something. He missed nothing. No dates, no facts and knew how to present our case. Mr. Medlin and his staff were very meticulous, even late breaking defense information made it into the trial. I highly recommend his services, you can trust him to listen, work with you, help navigate things to the best resolution for everyone. He will do what he can to keep you out of the courtroom - which says a lot at the end of the day about his integrity as a person not just as an attorney. However, if you end up in litigation you’ll not go wrong having him represent you. I highly trust, recommend and respect his legal expertise and manner.
