After receiving a summons from Union County regarding divorce I contacted and hired another attorney that was recommended by a friend. I used that attorney for several months and up to the time of mediation where I was unsuccessful in reaching a settlement. It was then that I got the feeling that I w...as the one who did most of the negotiating and felt like it would be in my best interest to consult with other attorneys regardless of the cost. This is when I found Penny and after the first consultation I hired her without a second thought. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable but she had the personality I was looking for. She is not intimidated by anyone. She is outgoing, funny, aggressive, bubbly, compassionate, and a shark at heart. Penelope was great to me through my divorce process. She was great at explaining how each part of the process worked (in a way that a non-lawyer could understand) and what I needed to do to be prepared. Occasionally I would get stressed about particular parts of the process and she would calmly wal...k me through it and assure me that it would work out fine, as it did. I think this is critical as these situations are extremely unpleasant and she treated me like a person and not a source of revenue. Another thing she did that I really appreciated was to tell me how I could save some money by doing some things on my own that would have been expensive had she done them for me. Ultimately, Penelope was able to guide me through the process and help me come to a settlement with my ex that was A) much less than was requested and B) a fair settlement according to the facts.
