Slow and unprepared

I actually hired Aimee for a custody case in which I was trying to obtain full custody instead of joint that was in place. Paperwork took forever to be written and filed and served. When that finally happened, I kept asking and asking when she would get us into court. It dragged on for months and mo...nths for seemingly no reason. I know courts are slow but there seemed to be no attempts to get a court date. All of a sudden, she started speaking to the attorney on the opposing side and trying to strike a deal with him and my ex without my consent. I wanted to get into court. She kept saying that settling out of court was faster and would be better but my gut told me we needed to be in front of a judge. Aimee sent me custody proposals from my ex's attorney via email and kept encouraging me to take them. Each one had another and another concession on my end until finally the custody was so convoluted and far from my original goal that I gave up. I had payed her so much that I didn't have money left to hire another attorney to take over. To be clear, when I first consulted with her she said I would have no problem getting sole custody. I am not a drug abuser, not a child abuser, have no criminal record at all, not even speeding tickets!! I am a great mom now and was when I hired Aimee. Before I paid her she convinced me we would have no problem in court or with custody. After I paid, she was lazy and I guess decided court was not her desire. Never mind what her client wants! I was highly disappointed and walked away broke and lost miserably. I am writing this now (a couple years after I hired her) because in those years I found a great attorney who gladly took my case and got me my kids back! So I know it was possible and I just hired the wrong person. It's way too bad my kids had to go through two more years of a bad situation with their dad while I saved the money to hire another attorney and properly get the case handled the way it SHOULD have been with Aimee. Beware of any attorney who promises you your cake and to eat it too. In retrospect, I would have asked her to be honest with me about how hard she planned to work and what she thought the worst outcome could be. Not just assume that she would have my interests as a priority only to let me down in the end. After all, custody cases involve the lives of innocent children. They are not just business deals. Aimee is nice and funny and very pretty but I was blinded by all that and got taken.

Would not recommend

I consulted with Aimee and went over in detail all issues I was having pertaining to my custody order. I was wanting to file a Motion for Contempt. We discussed all options and what i would need to do to present sufficient evidence in court. We also went over options for filing for modification of su...pport. I paid the consultation fee, she took detailed notes of my issues, copied my paperwork, and qouted me costs for the contempt and modification of support. I was working on gathering information and evidence for my case, and also trying to come up with the fees to retain her. A couple of months after the consultation I received a letter from Aimee's office. Initially I thought it might be a follow up letter. When I opened it, it was a court summons and she was representing the opposing party. I then had no choice but to consult with another attorney, pay the fee to consult, then retain them. I am not sure if Aimee failed to realize she had consulted with me prior to the opposing party, but her lack of ethics and organization in this matter was unexcusable.

Not in it just for the $$$$

I called Aimee Cain concerning a non-biological child we had custody of. After several DNA tests, the bio father was identified. She spoke with me over the phone for approximately 45 minutes answering all of my questions and giving me some excellent advice! She had never met me nor received a dime fr...om me when she took the time to help me that day. Her advice proved priceless in the following months. I can't thank her enough for how she helped me without even being a client.

If you want to win your custody case- Hire Aimee

If you want to win your custody case hire Aimee Cain. She and her staff worked so hard for me I can never thank them enough. Victoria and Kimberly kept me informed and Aimee was right there to answer questions and give support even beyond legal advice. LOVE THIS FIRM!

Worth it if you can afford it

I consulted her about my child support and custody agreement with an out-of-state father. She was able to advise me of my rights and responsibilities and was also able to answer questions about aspects of my situation not related to the child support or custody case. Due to the father's military depl...oyment, I had to put off going to court, but I am saving up some money so that I can go back to Ms. Cain in the future. At the time her retainer fee for my case was $2000 and she advised me that depending on whether or not the father made it difficult and then caused the case to be drawn out over a length of time the cost could possibly go up. She even called me weeks after our consult to check in on me and make sure everything was still okay for my child and I. She was very understanding of my situation but also seemed like she would be a tiger in court.
