As a solo practicing attorney, Watsi has concentrated her practice primarily in the criminal and civil District Courts, representing clients in traffic, criminal and domestic matters. Among her colleagues and court personnel, Watsi is an astute attorney who is well respected for her diligence and passionate advocacy on behalf of her clients.
Before opening the office of Watsi M. Sutton, P.A., Watsi served as a former prosecutor in the role of Assistant District Attorney for the 2nd Judicial District of North Carolina, comprising Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington County. In addition, Watsi worked as the Managing Attorney for the New Bern office of Legal Aid of North Carolina, a nonprofit law firm serving 80,000 low-income citizens of northeastern North Carolina, facing foreclosure, domestic violence, family disputes, unemployment claims and tenant evictions. Watsi has also worked in large and mid-sized Raleigh area firms, handling civil disputes on behalf of large corporate clients.
Watsi was a General Election Nominee for District Court Judge, winning the May 2010 primary, and was endorsed by the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys for a seat on the District Court of the Second Judicial District. Though she did not prevail in the General Election, Watsi’s candidacy helped to expand the local electorate by engaging first-time, young and diverse voters around the cause for justice for all. Watsi was again nominated for District Court Judge in February 2018.

Attorney Sutton is EXCELLENT! I was charged by District Attorney Seth Edwards with obtaining property under false pretense when my former employer noted a charge made on the employer’s credit card that I was completely unaware of until after being indicted by a grand jury. I was arrested in Missouri,...
"Watsi is a skilled advocate and trial lawyer. She behaves in a professional manner, at all times, even when disagreements arise. She is reasonable when negotiating, but also knows how to be firm when necessary."
"I highly endorse this lawyer. She is a hard working, talented, diligent trial lawyer who fights for her clients because she really cares about them and wants to help them and their children."
