Highly recommended

Professional, sympathetic, supportive, thoughtful, and very prepared. I think he did a great job with a challenging case.

Labor dispute

During a time that I needed guidance and patience, I consulted Mr. Stauff, whom I believed not only gave me the reassurance that he was there for me but gave me back my hope in the judicial system. I knew that when I hired him I was facing a slim chance of winning but Mr. Stauff went above and beyond... what I believed to be his scope of duty. Not only did I get what I believed was a great attorney but my dignity back in the process.

Review of Matthew Stauff

Mr. Stauff was my attorney for my divorce. He was very thorough and knowledgeable in reviewing of my case. He was personable, polite and considerate of my feelings and time. He accompanied me to court and facilitated the proceedings in such a way that no time was wasted and the desired outcome was ...achieved. I would recommend him highly and will use him again if I ever need an attorney.

Posted by Glenda | September 07, 2012 | Guardianship

pursuant 1.14 (b) n.c. professional conduct

Stauff file a motion of false allegations to a Judge: of me being substanial harm, deminish capacity, can not act in my own best interests and in need of a GAL. after 14 business days, one oral conversation, without ever contacting me that a motion would be filed or kept me inform of any proceedi...ng but sent many e-mails of intimindations. He never inform me of my rights or ask me my side of the case in an appeal ejectment in housing. Unethical, unprofessional, substanial harm, poor judgement calls; pro bono attorney inconsiderate of the elderly client for due process of law.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
