As a Philadelphia based Machine Shop Owner with literally no ties to NC I found myself contesting an idiotic business suit in North Carolina after another lawyer failed to have my matter dismissed for obvious lack of jurisdiction. To compound my predicament, after firing my seemingly deficient council, I answered the plaintiff's complaint and levied a counterclaim acting as a pro-se defendant for both my person and my LLC which was also named in said suit.
With the plaintiff's lawyer fighting for a default judgment against my LLC (who I can not legally represent pro se), I enlisted Joe who was highly recommended to me by a fellow machine shop owner I cold called out of a Yellow pages listing. That the individual thought enough of Joe to return my voice mail days later to vouch for Joe's character says a lot in my book. With Joe firmly in my corner, an arduous and drawn out fight ensued that ultimately culminated in the delusion plaintiff PAYING ME a low five figure sum to settle the matter. Joe's considerable trial experience and knowledge of the law were invaluable, particularly since so much of my case and the plaintiff's conduct was downright bizarre.
If I had another business dispute in North Carolina I would hire Joe immediately.
Joe has been trying cases in the state and federal courts of North Carolina since 1984. He has served as lead counsel in trials in federal court and in 10 different counties across North Carolina including Wake County. Joe has been before juries in cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, land condemnation, contract disputes, and real estate.

"I endorse this lawyer. I have had the honor of knowing Attorney Joseph T. Howell for over thirteen years as his law clerk and as a fellow lawyer. Since that time, I have had the privilege of working with him on several cases. He is a charismatic and eloquent trial lawyer-with exceptional skill and knowledge. His reputation as a fighter, knowledge of the law, and his compassionate demeanor make him unsurpassed in his field. Juries love him, ad the other side fears him. Anyone who hires Joseph T. Howell can expect the absolute best possible result from his or her case."
