My practice is focused on divorce and family law related matters in Wake County. I approach each case with the goal of helping my client reach a satisfactory resolution in the most efficient and least stressful manner possible. Whether it is an uncontested divorce, drafting a prenuptial agreement or a separation agreement, negotiating, mediating, or litigating, that goal remains the same. Many of the cases I handle settle. Settlement is by far the most efficient and least stressful way to resolve legal matters. As I tell clients, we can only control our side of the case and, therefore, when settlement is possible, I will work equally hard to litigate their case.

Great divorce lawyer

I had a need to consult with an experienced divorce lawyer over a holiday weekend and James was the only one that took the time out of his schedule to return my call and set up an appointment. After meeting with him I knew he would represent me well, have my best interests at heart, and guide me through a contentious divorce. When division of assets became very challenging, he reminded me of my options and to focus on what I wanted to do. James helped me through a challenging divorce and was a pleasure to work with. Worry Free divorce

Overdue divorce

I was married in 1996 for about 6 months , I was young / naive and getting divorced was not upmost important , He moved far away ,when IRS let me know he started filing jointly using my info, I knew it was time , 19 years later , I hired Mr Brooks after much deliberation, He answered all of my questions and showed no judgement of my situation , He was able to get papers signed for me , I am happily divorced now and my man of 10 years is no longer angry that I'm married , I will use Mr Brooks going forward for any legal matters that may arise , possibly a prenup , his rate was reasonable

James did a great job in handling my complicated divorce. He handled the complications quickly and smoothly. He always got back to me very quickly with any questions I had. When I thought I hit a roadblock he assured me we would continue through until the divorce was finalized and it was done in the short amount of time that he said it would. Fast and efficient

I called James in a couple of days I had my appointment for consultation, he was clear and made sure everything is well understood, I hired him on the same day, he did the job efficiently and faster than I expected, he's excellent with communication and answered any question that crossed my mind during the process

How to make Divorce Manageable

James was a great asset to my divorce settlement. Both parties worked together to gain the necessary information and come to an amineable arrangement. Smooth and Painless

I hired the good counselor Brooks to execute my Divorce based on my needs and cost constraints. He was happy to provide the services needed at the custom level I required. As always, I was ready to defend my wallet against an onslaught of adders this and add that. I was shocked and thrilled that I did not need to do this and we came to an agreement to his role and price in short order. Counselor Brooks stuck to his price even though my spouse was difficult and time consuming. I was extremely impressed with his smooth execution and how he simplified the process.
